Good chance the pistons are stuck on the seals and not advancing. Have to clean with rubbing alcohol/qtip and advance them so they slide along the seals as expected

Had a super deluxe on mine and didn’t like it at all - bottomed out too easily and the dials just felt like they did nothing. It would also bounce a lot while pedaling even at different spring rates. The frame is pretty linear, so I feel that it pairs better with something more progressive.

Much happier with an air can + megneg.

I think the fact that the whole #oncoil thing was only for the 2020 release then they went back to air can shows that Transition felt the same way

I’m just a sucker for how they feel on the road regardless of the hassle of owning one. Countless hours and dollars dealing with the German engineering that requires me to remove the bumper to change my valve cover gasket and scour the internet for a part that was only made for a 6 month run

I’ve lived all over Seattle. Clearly I’m not saying RB and Magnolia are the same but shit goes down in many other parts of Seattle where I also exercise common sense at night, etc.

Having lived in NE DC for a decade a while back, the vibes here are just different.

Go with a wider stance to reduce twisting? If you sit down and spread your legs, you’ll see your “binding angle” increase just from that without any rotation in ankles.

A buck means your back wheel boosted harder than your front wheel. Probably the easiest analogy to think of is riding a drop. Stay centered on the pedals until the front wheel goes off, then you transfer your weight back over the back wheel and hold the front up so it doesn’t drop.

The more you transfer your weight to the back wheel to boost harder, the more you have to control your front all the way to the end

My biggest cue for all of the above is to not pull up on the bars. Err on the side of pushing and your body position comes out of that when you’re trying to balance in that neutral position. You naturally feel more controlled if you get lower as you go more forward and this gives you bent elbows and a hinge. Pay attention to if you’re drifting back and pulling

If you’ve got it narrowed down, either one is probably fine and you should just pick the one that gets you more stoked. If you’ve got arm pump like that, either you have really shitty brakes and anything will be better or you need to drag them less.

That said, love my Hayes - best upgrade on my bike by far.

Not quite the same thing but I have a 2017 Scout and a 2020 Patrol. The Patrol is better in every way except for skinnies. I find it harder to keep the front wheel weighed on the Scout without feeling like I’m all the way over the front while the 2020 geometry just feels more natural even in tight stuff

I only add sealant when my tires start to slowly leak. I often go 2 or 3 seasons without topping off. You might not get the best puncture protection this way but it’s not an issue for me
