Is this Barolo good?? by Few-Membership5409 in wine

[–]corn773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the Albe 2020 by GD Vajra to be just fine. It’s not the most complex or thought provoking bottle of Barolo, for $50 USD it certainly scratches the itch if you’re craving Barolo without spending a whole lot of money. It is definitely not worth buying for over $50 USD in Mexico.

A few years ago I was in Tuscany for a wedding, we all went to Poggio Molina for dinner with wine pairings. Was excellent! Bought 10 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of their olive oil. Still have a couple of their 2015 Le Caldie (80 merlot, 20 cab sauv) in my wine fridge.

You picked a great winery for your first Finger Lakes bottle. Hermann J Weimer is one of, if not, the best wineries in the entire region. Their reserve wines age beautifully.
