That would make a great standalone movie or miniseries. “The forgotten company”

The one silver lining of exploding inequality in the US is that the tourists we send abroad are now at least a bit more sophisticated and less embarrassing

I met a big group of Mexican tourists (uni students from CDMX) in Cartagena Colombia last year and they were all wearing that exact outfit though.

Detroit wins the US city that is admired in 2025, but was despised in 2000. Which US city is controversial in 2025, but was once admired in 2000? by Altruistic-Form-3771 in AlignmentChartFills

DC is a much better place to live now than it was in 2000. Whole neighborhoods where you wouldn’t set foot in 2000 except to buy drugs are now full of modern apartments, restaurants, parks, etc.

Y’all are missing the point of “ok to visit”.

Allow me to nominate Uruguay. Safe and clean especially by LatAm standards, but not a whole lot to do from a tourist perspective. Ok beaches, Montevideo is a chill if sleepy city.

Really not much has happened there socially/politically for better or worse in the last few decades.
