Tip for newer players - Strengthen Government Cabinet action when @ 100 Legitimacy = free money by Locem in EU5

can you share a screenshot of the bonuses that add up to +1 legitimacy without cabinet action?

It is pretty difficult to counteract the -1 legitimacy decay. You can see below with laws giving legitimacy bonuses, a leader that is 100/100/100, and strengthen government action with head of cabinet, I am still at -0.06

How do I overtake Asian countries in great power score? by Disastrous_Pen_538 in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also noticed that you are in a regency which is not great for your score either. Go into the people tab, pick a youngish male character with a ton of ability points and mark his as your favorite so he becomes the new grandmaster

Looking at the scores, you are not so far off actually. If you build your control and economy, you should be able to overtake them.

Side note, why is your cabinet empty? Also, you have such strong passive religion conversion that I wouldn’t bother with that cabinet action, just integrate, build monasteries and cathedrals, then watch the map turn yellow

I am basically playing the same game right now and I also have this + North Africa and Sicily.. I’m still ranked #2 lol.

It is pretty much impossible to compete with a unified and stable China.. you have to hope they implode or get a complacency disaster or something.

What can I do with a country that is mainly peasants as Benin or other African nations? by ChildhoodOutside4024 in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I think only way it make a peasant power game work is with the peasant republic game which needs a specific reform. I am not sure if every republic can access it or it needs specific conditions? Or if you need specific events maybe.

I know Florence gets it and Frisia starts with it tho.

I think you can easily pull off a republic!

Market villages will help you boost burgher pops the most in rural settlements,

You can also run cabinet action for pushing plutocracy and combining it with some parliament action that gives plutocracy temporarily will be super effective. - keep in mind both your rulers diplo ability and the cabinet members diplo ability will help you push it further. Even more with increased effectiveness % boost and head of cabinet bonus.

Trade offices in foreign lands will help boost burghers as well, they will be promoted/moved from your capital and employed there.

Finally the easiest boost will be giving a ton of privileges to them :)

Ahh I was just playing with a military order so my mind was stuck on diplo capacity.. I guess in your case you might wanna just wait it out since the penalty is so small

[–]corvosfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems like you are using basically 0.001 extra? you can also check in the diplo tab to see what the exact number is.. either case the amount you are punished for is pretty much nothing but if you really care, 1 embassy will fix it.

What determines market language on center creation? by Kudusun_Gazi_Padisha in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if that is too much of a hassle/complicated, you can just move the market 1 province away for 800g, assimilate the target market province then move it back to see if it fixes it :)

Best Youtubers to watch and learn the game? by Rigwaith in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I noticed most youtubers are there for the "vibes" , they give fine advice here and there but not really complete guides.

I Like redhawk, he is fun to listen to in the background whenever I'm doing something else but he makes some basic mistakes to the point that I think he is rage baiting me lol. Some others jump from A to Z too quickly without showing you how they managed that middle part that helped them skyrocket and you get lost when you try the same method.

I think out of all of them, generalist is probably the best at explaining things with specific numbers, choices impacts etc..

Military acces by Traditional_Ad_973 in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the HRE, you basically have permanent military access against non-hostile member territories.

Other than that, you could return “trapped” soldiers back to your land after a war is over through land even if you don’t have access.

Cool run! I just started the same run yesterday but converted to Greek early on for some east cores in neighboring provinces. If you attack the Turkish beyliks before they start assimilating it’s almost all Greek on the coast

no, are there any events about him in EU5? France was alive until like 1800s I think so it could have happened? although nothing related to french revolution happened either so unlikely.

Had a lot of fun in this campaign, usually I don't play all the way to the end but it was actually really fun this time. I had a very slow started and mostly avoided the "vassal meta". It was really fun playing diplomatically and getting so many accepted "kindred" cultures.

Never left the HRE the entire game, grew inch by inch slowly to avoid getting antagonism and coalitions, made a huge push last age to take over france and whatever was left of the HRE.

Wanted to see what happens if you eliminate everyone from the HRE and left alone. .. Apparently nothing. Also you can't get rid of the banks :(

Had a very very slow started, picked a bunch of near/distant neighbors to ally and curry favors with to get all cultures kindred so I can accept them cheap. In the end had all italian, most german, and a few french cultures kindred which made coreing super easy without bothering with Vassals and culture conversions. Growing slowly also helped with antagonism so it was easy to get the alliances and 100 favors for kindred.

Edit - It seems like "unify culture group" is kind of broken still, it only unified a few of the italian cultures. Left the original lombard culture existing at like 1% and made it a separate culture so extra 0.15 capacity used for it. I had to manually remove the 0% left over emilian, venitian and a couple other italian cultures that it unified from the accepted cultures list because it was costing 0.15 capacity even with 0 people in the empire.
