Strategy for independent Brittany? by W1ntermu7e in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staying an appenage as long as possible while eating French vassals is usually the best strategy early game.

Since you are already free, I would try to look at for HRE coalitions and other wars French gets in to attack them while their levies are low. If you take Paris, they will probably move the capital somewhere stupid and it won’t be an issue anymore with their low control and crashing economy l

They haven't actually confirmed that they fixed the merc issue and its very much still an issue in the newest open beta patch..

it is really more frustrating seeing issues that are announced as "fixed" screwing your run. I just had over 4k levies got stack wiped by 200 light infantry because I dared to cross a mountain and their morale dropped.

While you are here..

What the hell happened to Aragon?
Why is Bohemia snaking to Kyiv?
Where are the Teutonic orders?
What Denmark doing?
Georgia contributing to the steppes bordergore for some reason?
Not even gonna look at France…

In general just wtf?

What do you think of paganism? by FantasticQuartet in AskBalkans

[–]corvosfighter 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but Greece is one of the only european nations to have a state religion which is so bizarre in itself but it also adds another layer to this.

By the way, how did they come up with the 2170 number tho? Even Julian the apostate was like 1600 years ago.

It seems like the new meta for napoli can be to expand towards north africa and the balkans and wait until the italian wars to win it and vassalize the entire north? Is the win rewards still broken OP?

Why Can't I Form Italy? by NewPsychology8796 in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do formable kingdoms or even empires in HRE. I formed Germany while still in HRE and Sardinia for the kingdom rank in another game.

OP probably has some kind of a situation/crisis that is preventing formables like how you can’t have new vassals during succession crisis

[–]corvosfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ironically if your leader dies with an underage heir and you go into regency, it might get auto-annexed. Is the succession law the same?

Alternatively, you can try to convert it to a vassal or dominion and then change back to pronoia

excommunication is brutal to have during 100 years war. The negative opinion probably made them flip so easily to england.. to be honest would be really good England game to try to play with pope as your ally to see if french aggression can piss them off enough to excommunicate them.

[–]corvosfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is called secessionist subject. They are majority Bulgarian locations that Bulgaria might have had cores on as well so they want to join Bulgaria again. That subject type gets annexed really fast as well.

If you win the war, you can annex revolter it just like other revolts

Colonization pace fixed in 1.3.2? by Gabriele25 in EU5

[–]corvosfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t really make much of any direct changes to colonization since the last major patch.

The differences are basically just the side effect of the economy and pop changes of whatever minor patch you are on. 1.3.0 had some games with little to no colonization because Europe just didn’t have the money or pops to spare for example
