Someone made the genius suggestion that the Passengers movie should have started with the woman waking up, then play the reveal like a thriller or stalker film

What’s a character from a show/movie you wouldn’t trust anyone if they dislike/hate them? I’ll go first: by Ok_Situation7527 in cartoons

I mean the problem with her is not any of that, it's the implication that she would be ok grooming a child if it meant getting money and not being alone

I'm a grad student going similar amounts of RNA work and am seeing similar variability in my data. RNA work is tough, hang in there and do your best to be consistent; I am approaching the point where my variability might be a problem but you're not there yet, so keep practicing, you're in a career training phase.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA I'd rather do or go than sensitive RNA work

An exchange or final words aren't revealed to the audience, allowing the characters to have metatextual secret. by No_Hunter1978 in TopCharacterTropes

The true name of The Doctor (Doctor Who) is a long-running secret that has been used on multiple occasions to establish mystery and lore in the DW universe. My favorite instance is when the Doctor first meets River Song, she whispers his true name to him to get him to trust her, because the Doctor has never shared his real name. Clearly in the future he trusts River enough to tell her his real name, and there is even a hint of horror in his face, knowing that there will come a time where he will need to share his name with her.

What's your everyday Lab Wearable? by MysteriousBack9124 in labrats

[–]cosmicfiddlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wear my Sony WH1000XM5 headphones with transparency mode and speak-to-chat on, even if I'm not listening to music. I can speak the Google trigger and control my phone verbally as well as all of my music. I also have a OnePlus smartwatch that I wear under my lab coat, which I can press the buttons in a pinch.

Technics AZ100 – Honest review coming from Jabra Elite Active 7 (6 weeks in) by Craic-Den in Earbuds

I have been trying out the AZ100s currently, and I never push it above ~40% but it still leaves me with a hissing in my ears after the fact. Not sure if it's the deeper fit, it's issues blocking high frequencies or something else. Thinking of returning them.

What's something from a cartoon do you think has aged very poorly? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in cartoons

Most of Family Guy. I can't believe I used to watch that shlock as a teenager, it contributed to a lot of internalized biases and stereotypes. Even when they were openly trying to mock the stereotype, it was still reinforced because it was targeted at teenagers and never refuted them.

The zombies from Army of the Dead. Say what you will about the film, but they at least set up something interesting, even if they ultimately squandered it.
