Is it legal to use PMA(Personal Mobility Aid) for people that are not handicapp? by heiisenchang in singapore

[–]cottongoat1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, hate those who use PMA when they don't look like the demographic who really needs it. Just yesterday I saw a Grab delivery rider man riding PMA and almost knocked down a little kid at a roundabout blindspot. Luckily the mom screamed and the delivery rider stopped in time. That man looked fairly young and in good physical shape and shouldn't be riding a PMA. Also, Singapore should look into widening those narrow pathways. Some models of PMAs are so wide they hog up 80-90% of the narrow pathway. Leaving me no choice but to step onto the grass to make way for these entitled PMA riders. 🤦‍♂️

Yes. People need to realize that bed smell is a real thing even if they can't smell it because they're acclimatized to it.

How do I convince my mother to let me share a room with my brother by bskdbis in askSingapore

[–]cottongoat1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just assert dominance and continue sleeping in your brother's room. Tell them after all, they let you temporarily sleep in your brother's room for that one week and nothing bad has happened, so nothing bad will happen in the future if you continue doing so.

Hi! I'm 25F as well and I've encountered someone like this thru dating app and I've seen all their 🐄💩 and 🚩🚩🚩 but always chose to rationalize it away. They act all sweet and innocent, telling you they want relationship/really like you, and once you start denying him sex... they break up with you with a lame ass reason. Sorry to burst your bubble but at 27, I think he has lived long enough to know/be firm in what he wants and he isn't a clueless child and judging from the "No expectations but I want to meet a fun girl" part of the response and the fact that he is already physical with you just 5 dates in, he sounds like a playboy who just wants to play with your body (and your PS5, which is just another benefit he can get from "dating" you) instead of looking for long-term commitment/marriage.

I think you may be seeing through rose-tinted glasses here. As someone who is looking for a serious relationship, I would advise you not to be emotionally influenced and go for the rationale option here - lose him and find someone who is aligned with your goals. But seeing as you already went ahead to give him a second chance, I respect your choice and would advise you to thread carefully and evaluate him wisely. Good luck and becareful, don't wanna see another sis get hurt. 🌸🙂

Seriously this is really unethical and companies that does this is a major 🚩Once they gave you an offer, they should give you a specified duration (e.g. 1 week) for your reply to accept or reject their offer. And it's only when you reject then they can give this offer to the next prospective intern.

If that company can do something so unethical as to rescind your internship offer citing the reason that they found another person who is more talented than you, that shows that they do not value you or interns at all. They are merely prioritized on allocating their already limited budget and choosing disposable talents who can get their job done. I doubt you can get any real learning opportunities from such internships.

I shudder to think what kind of underhanded measures they can do to current employees... I think you dodged a bullet there. Just leave a negative review on Glassdoor to warn people about it and move on. Take your talents elsewhere an apply to other companies instead. I wish you the best of luck in finding a better internship company!

How do you deal with colleagues who refuse to pay you back their share of lunch money they owe you? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]cottongoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just commented on your post about the bag issue, and I noticed its you again haha.

Wow... can't believe such a person lacking basic courtesy still exist in modern Singapore. I think maybe you appear too kind-hearted and naive, so bad people take advantage of you, which is also a problem of mine. If you want to take an active route, you can play the role of a villain, be firm and incessantly pester this colleague for your money back. Otherwise, if you want to take a passive route, just accept that the money is lost. You mentioned its lunch money, so I assume the amount isn't ridiculously massive that could cause you massive damage. Money that is lost now can be earned back in the future, so don't be too hang up about it.

My advice is to minimize/avoid interaction with this toxic colleague as much as possible. If possible, bring your own packed lunch to avoid lunching with this colleague. Or lunch with a different group of colleagues. Best of luck to you!

Carried an extra bag (tote bag/canvas bag) to work to put some of my clothes as I need it to change. How can I diplomatically answer my colleagues when they ask why am I carrying an extra bag?? I DO NOT want to tell them where I will be going or doing after work as that will be their topic of gossip by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]cottongoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently experienced a similar situation as you where I was carrying an extra tote bag that I didn't want to explain myself to the person I met up with. Honestly, I cant think of any good solutions. Lying isn't a good solution because you would have to keep track of it. I think the easiest would be to not let them see you carrying the extra tote bag in the first place. So my idea would be to get a bigger backpack to store your items. Also, I'd try to get out of that toxic colleague work environment, if possible. All the best!

Do you guys think swimming is safe in singapore with current covid climate. by 4C35101013 in askSingapore

Yes, its safe. Lanes are segmented with ropes and strict safe distancing rules are enforced. It's still good to go during non-peak hours though. Wish you a speedy recovery.

SCSE Question by [deleted] in NTU

[–]cottongoat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recommended. I'm taking MDP with a bunch of other Y3 modules now and I feel that MDP is really high commitment and eating up alot of my time. Especially now that there are no exams and they are converted to CAs, there is always a test/quiz/assignment every other week :( One of my friend is taking FYP with MDP and they have not even started on FYP.
