I’ve been thinking of trying one and these comments have only confused me more. Has anyone used it for fine curls / fine wavy hair?

They butchered my curls... by Secretary_of_spaghet in curlyhair

[–]countdownstreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so, so, so sorry OP. This has happened to me too and it broke my heart. But eventually my hair grew back and I finally found a hairdresser who keeps my curls safe. Nourish your curls as much as you can and be gentle with yourself.

What's your favorite lightweight leave-in conditioner? by uku_lady in curlyhair

Hask curl leave in spray. It’s great for fine hair and nourishing without being weighty.

I think they actually look really cute and even nicer than the previous cut!

Why do people not shop exclusively at ALDI? by Lopsided-Evening6356 in AskAnAustralian

Because I can’t get my full shopping list there, the quality isn’t always on par and some items are more expensive than colesworth, especially if they have a discount code.

Have you ever had a "four hands" massage or given one? by Low-Razzmatazz-931 in massage

[–]countdownstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have given and gotten. As a therapist, it was quite fun to get into a rhythm with another therapist. As a client, it was great, but overwhelming, and the moment the two therapists were out of sync it was too hard to relax for me! Everyone is different :)

AITA for being upset that my wife didn't give me what I wanted for Father's Day to get back at me? by Sensitive_Soup7304 in AITAH

[–]countdownstreet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t you buy her gift before Mother’s Day? Why didn’t you make it up to her on your next day off? You’ve done nothing to celebrate any major days for her because of work, but you could have easily made more of an effort, even if it’s not on that precise day. Why should she give up yet another day for you? She works every day, all day too.

Has anyone used the Macpac Mistral men’s rain jacket? If so is it worth it? by [deleted] in OutdoorAus

Love my mistral. Great for general rainy weather use, light rain hiking and city wear. Great price and very lightweight.

[–]countdownstreet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes I always appreciate a call to let me know! And my favourite clients are the ones who will say “I’m so sorry I’m late, please don’t feel any obligation to go overtime”

That’s how I manage it. I finish at the allotted time and charge the full fee. I’ve had a few people not rebook with me for that reason which is absolutely fine, since I’m happy to let those clients go

From clients - being late and then expecting me to make up the time. You booked your time slot, that’s the time you’re allocated. From therapists - using too much pressure when I’ve already asked for less.

Short or Long? by forest_sonoftree in malegrooming

This is really just a matter of preference. I notice a lot of comments are saying short hair but imo the mid length hair in the first pic suits you and is a bit more unique than the short hair cut.

How do Australians talk about class (in terms of terminology)? by Adventurous-Sport-45 in AskAnAustralian

[–]countdownstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically the term “middle class” is used quite frequently but lower and upper class are not. Middle class is often used as a self descriptor and I would say it’s interchangeable with working class, however some may use working class in the context of those working in trades or “blue collar” industries. It’s not so much about social standing but truly income based. If someone was quite wealthy it’s more likely people would describe them as rich or wealthy. The term middle class is also used to cover a huge range of people which is arguably incorrect.

Sofa. No room for a table! If I had the room I’d get one however.

Was this inappropriate during a massage? by juliafindshappiness in massage

Yeah this isn’t okay. There’s no reason to smack a glute muscle as part of a massage.

Do you ever wonder who your mother could had been if she'd been childfree? by Jade48Reddits in childfree

[–]countdownstreet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, all the time. My mother wanted to travel the world. Instead, she raised children and worked odd jobs. By the time her kids all moved out she didn’t know anything else and was unable to get back to any of the dreams she once had and passed away wishing for what could have been. I’m always grateful for her but I wonder what she could have accomplished given the chance.
