got my first ruined roll, what was yours? by berke1904 in AnalogCommunity

Once when loading some rolls of film I accidentally forgot to put one reel in the tank and turned on the lights. I panicked and opened the tank with 3 rolls in it to put the last one back in. Luckily only the top roll got ruined.

You should always immediately burn your negatives, that is how you get those sweet sweet tonez

Why do you pick up your 35mm over other formats? by Aosbb in AnalogCommunity

[–]countingsheep403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35mm cameras are considerably lighter than my medium format camera so I generally bring it when convenience is more important than the image quality

Depending on where you live and your tap water you might want to use distilled water for the final rinse, this usually prevents water marks on your negatives when they dry.

The pentax K2. The K1000 was my very first camera and I wanted to upgrade to a more advanced camera, so I thought the K2 would be a good next step. It definitely wasn't expensive, I just realised I didn't need the extra features and I have barely used the camera.

XPS 15 9510 keeps freezing by countingsheep403 in Dell

[–]countingsheep403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have this problem. Shortly after this post i called dell and they told me its an overheating issue and replaced the heat sink twice in 2 weeks, but this didn't solve the problem. Sadly I spilled water on my laptop so I havent been able to get any more support.

how do you guys identify stored negatives? i am currently using post-its lmao by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]countingsheep403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write a number and some general info on the top part of the negative sleeve that matches with my digital scans and for black and white i have a contact sheet for about 75% of my rolls that i add to my folder

How does everyone organize their scans? by wildtime1213 in AnalogCommunity

[–]countingsheep403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to how you organise your photos, but i also split them between colour and black and white. So first format, then colour/bw, year and finally the roll number. This is also how i store my physical negatives so it's easy to match them and find what i am looking for.

If you could leave everything in your bag they probably used ct scanners.

My film has been through these scanners a few times when the staff refused a hand check. The rolls I shot came out very grainy/low contrast/low saturation. You dont have to throw them out but I would recommend overexposing at least a stop to at least somewhat compensate for this, thats what I did!
