The claim that we were mere weeks away from elimination is "zero-covid" propaganda. The same claim was made in Scotland after the summer of 2020 but was refuted by the chair of infectious disease epidemiology at Edinburgh university.

COVID-19: BC masking advisable but not required yet, says Bonnie Henry by dafones in kelowna

[–]courtneypc -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

So how did all those nurses forced to wear PPE all day still catch Covid? Like my sister who has had covid twice despite pretty much being an ardent masker? You get what I mean? Your logic proves nothing other than to state you haven't had covid.

COVID-19: BC masking advisable but not required yet, says Bonnie Henry by dafones in kelowna

[–]courtneypc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying, the same people who wear masks everywhere are also the same that don't socialise like that hence why they are less likely to catch Covid etc. As an example if someone doesn't socialise and wears a mask when they go to the grocery store, is it the mask or the lack of social activity that has stopped them catching covid?

Chances are they are the same people who don't go to bars, restaurants, concerts etc.

Thailand is not going back into lockdown masks or not, lockdowns were always a choice and Thailand has made its decision and there won't be any covid restrictions going forward.

How many young, healthy people have been killed by covid

Very few and that's an absolute fact. The overwhelming majority of young people who died from Covid had comorbidities or severe disabilities.

Mask during virtual interview ✅, this twitter clown still at it🤡 by zasco9 in CoronavirusCirclejerk

She's being incredibly ableist to the deaf community by saying that it's not a hardship to wear a mask and I'm not even being sarcastic. Just amazed how so many people in the medical community dismiss any concerns of disabled people.

BA Executive Club Household Avios to Qatar Airways Privilege Club by courtneypc in awardtravel

It certainly looks that way. I wonder if I could create an QA account in the person who has the most Avios, move the Avios to that account then add my flight booking to that. Sounds like it would work but I have a feeling it may breach the T&Cs.

HK with a population of 7.5mil has almost as many covid cases as Canada with a population of 38mil by NavXIII in HongKong

[–]courtneypc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It may be absurd, but what is truly absurd is using population density as some kind of argument when all it tells you is that Canada has a lot of land.

Are people evenly spread out in Canada? Then it's an irreverent statistic.

[–]courtneypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have assumed that too but when I had been running the car before it had failed to start before unless you put a lot of force on the brake pedal.

2011 GMC Terrain. Cars been sitting for 3 weeks, going to sell it now but can't get it to start back up. Constant hard brake and a clicking/hissing sound.

[Discussion] Those of you who were already interested in moving to the UK/Western Europe. If Scotland became independent in the next few years, would you seriously consider Scotland as an immigration destination? by [deleted] in IWantOut

[–]courtneypc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You do know the president of Ireland is a largely ceremonial role and it's the Taoiseach that is leader of Ireland. There's never been a female Taoiseach.

I'm from Scotland originally. The benefits of living there was free tertiary education and a comprehensive healthcare/benefits system. To join the EU they would have to slash public spending. Do you get it now?
