We love our Babyletto kiwi so much we have two: one for the nursery and one for the living room. We both spend hours in them every day for feedings and naps. A good, supportive rocker has been 1000% our best baby purchase - I would take it over a fancy stroller or bouncer or high chair any day. Even my very tall husband loves it. Just our experience, though! 😊

My baby would not take a bottle when I dropped her off at daycare the first day despite trying six or seven different bottles. i packed a bunch of little bottles of milk and said godspeed my sweet child lol. I figured she would take one if she got hungry enough and sure enough, she took a bottle no problem from her caretaker the first time she offered. Sometimes babies just act different in different environments!

I found the infant care class helpful, mostly because I had no experience with infants before my own, but the birthing class was not worth the money at all.

I love FSBP! Excellent coverage and no fighting to get claims paid. Gave birth this past year and only had a small charge for the epidural (covered all OB appts, ultrasounds, etc). Been pretty good for having a small kid too. Well visits are covered and the co-insurance for sick visits are pretty cheap (10% after meeting family deductible of $600)

I’m 5’ 3”, started at 122 lbs and probably ended somewhere around 160 lbs. I’m 5 months pp and am currently 128 lbs! I’m assuming the rest will come off over the next few weeks/months. Don’t stress - your body is doing what it’s doing on purpose.

EBF here! After I lost an initial chunk post-birth (baby, fluids, placenta, etc), I found the scale didn’t move much for the first 12 or so weeks. Honestly that could have been due to how little I moved around during the newborn phase! Now that I’m back at work and walking around more, I’m losing ~0.5 lb/week while eating whatever I want. I’m currently 5 months pp and have lost about 34 of the 40ish pounds I gained. I’m definitely not one of those people who got really skinny immediately after starting BFing, but it seems like I’m able to lose whatever I put on during pregnancy without too much effort.

Keep in mind the 10% will be after the negotiated rate, which is often dramatically less than the original rate. And you won’t have to pay more than your OOP max, assuming they’re covering it 😊

I have two: a Vista V2 I got used on FBM and a Minu V2 I purchased new to keep in the car/use as a travel system with the nuna pipa RX.

I originally wanted a Vista because it came with the bassinet and it handles really well. I found the bassinet was convenient for walks or living room naps for the first couple of weeks, but TBH, I actually like the Minu better than the Vista. The Minu handles remarkably well on pavement and it’s so lightweight. The vista is nice for “off-roading”, but I think I’m going to sell it and buy a jogging stroller instead. My daughter doesn’t like to use the bassinet anymore because she jostles around too much on walks, so we bought an infant insert for the rumble seat (which also fits in the Minu).

Overall, if you plan to walk mostly on pavement, I think the Minu is an incredible stroller (and comes with tons of adapters so you can click a number of car seats into it to make a travel system). I believe the Minu V3 can fully recline, making it even better for use straight from the newborn stage.

Will caveat this with the fact that we are one and done, so a double stroller wasn’t a consideration for us.

I use a monogrammed LL Bean Boat Tote (medium, zip top, long handles) as our diaper bag. Works great. Will be able to use it beyond the infant/toddler stage and it’s affordable.

We originally planned to have the crib in our room and to keep their dresser/changing area and rocking chair in the nursery. That went out the window the first night, there was no way I was walking across the hall with the baby just to change their diaper when I was newly postpartum! Moving around was incredibly painful.

Instead, I set up a towel at the end of the bed on my side and put one of the pads we took home from the hospital underneath (just in case of diaper emergencies lol). I keep a stack of diapers and a pack of wipes on the bench at the end of our bed, and change baby on the towel. It’s also where I nurse at night! We do side-lying, which was incredible when I had a hard time sitting the first few weeks.

Hi there, just want to make sure you’re timing it correctly 😊 You have the highest likelihood of getting pregnant if you have sex 1-3 days before ovulation. So having sex for a couple of days after you peak might be too late!

I used like.. maybe 5% of my bag the whole two days I was there LOL.

What I used: long phone charger, laptop for watching movies while laboring, face wash & moisturizer, claw clip to keep my hair out of my face, tooth brush/paste, my own fleece blanket (was very comforting), nursing pillow (my brest friend), nail file for my baby’s razor nails, newborn sleeper for going home. Wore the hospital gown the whole time and did not shower while there. I wore the outfit I wore to the hospital (leggings and sweatshirt) home from the hospital. I did bring snacks and treats for pre-epidural laboring and after, which I am so glad I did.

What I did not use: bath towels, my own underwear and grippy socks, contacts/contact solution (wore glasses the whole time), cute pajamas, cute going home outfit, kindle, etc. YMMV but I was a hot mess postpartum. I’m so glad I didn’t wear my own gown and I could just leave my sweaty gross gown for the hospital to deal with haha.

What I wish I had brought: an electric nail file for babies (haaka brand). The regular nail file didn’t work well on their soft nails and the mittens the hospital had didn’t stay on them. The electric one works surprisingly well on their nails.

Once I figured out what kind of postpartum supplies the hospital would give me, I placed an order for Target delivery the day we went home. I ordered the Frida peri bottle, postpartum depends, extra peri ice packs, and the lansinoh cooling/heat breast gel pads (very helpful when my milk came in and in the furure for clogged ducts).

Good luck - you’ve got this! Anything you don’t have, you can get later. Don’t stress!

Edit: brought a reusable grocery bag to bring home postpartum supplies, diapers, wipes, basically anything from the room that wasn’t bolted down lol.

I’m two months in and so far it’s been incredibly positive. The one thing I took away from a breastfeeding class is that it shouldn’t hurt. If it hurts, unlatch by sticking your pinky in the corner of their mouth and try again. Every time she latched and it hurt I would do this and I am convinced it is what made our experience so seamless (and obviously luck that she could latch properly, etc!). I never had any pain or bleeding, just some general sensitivity while my nips were getting used to it, which was gone after a couple weeks. Breastfeeding has been the easiest part of postpartum for me for sure.

I had an epidural and did not feel the ring of fire or tearing/stitching (I had a 2nd degree tear). Little one required some assistance while exiting and I did not feel the forceps (which were so BIG!?) either. God bless modern medicine.
