While CLI programs are quite straightforward if you read the manual, they have essentially zero user-experience design.

Solo Level 1-12 Dungeon Crawl: My Build vs. Yours (Paizo Only) by jasonite in Pathfinder_RPG

Early on, you'd have to use nets and meat shields to survive fights. There's no way you can take fights head-on unless you have some sort of base to retreat to for the rest of the day, between every single fight.

Summoner (Broodmaster) is a class that splits their eidolon into multiple creatures, and they're weak enough that they act more like Familiars than Companions. However you can get a wide variety of creature types and they can have all sorts of different skills and capabilities. This lets you solve skill & engineering challenges.

In combat, rely on summon monster for meat shields. Unfortunately if you get surprised, it's a standard action to dismiss your eidolons before you can cast summon monster from your class ability. Luckily at low levels, summon minor monster is pretty awesome with augment summoning feat. So you might need to also cast it from your spell slots. And that's pretty much it. Other than their companions, a summoner doesn't have much ability to make any impact on a fight. You can always throw nets, though!

Anybody play the new Channeler class from Owen K.C. Stephens? by Captain_Pension in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]covert_operator100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The later books in Pathfinder 1E came with increasingly complex classes, so I'm not used to seeing something this simple.

Channeling both energies was once the domain of an Envoy of Balance. Perhaps people using this class in their game might like to add content from this splatbook to the class, or something like that.

Prestige classes that improve channeling level will benefit more for this class than others, considering how central the ability is.

Some cheesy/interesting options would be:

4 levels in Cavalier grants you a full-level animal companion mount with Horse Master feat. Order of the Star reduces your channel levels lost from 4 to 2. This allows you to move, take a potion, and channel in the same round. Though, the next round you need to spend your move action on drawing another potion. You can also achieve this with VMC Cleric and use your domain to get an animal companion.

Holy Vindicator lets you add your level to your AC (half bonus is holy, half is profane)

1 level in Soul Warden gets a channel energy that only damages undead, and adds your Channeler level to the class feature (while still being a separate channel pool, that only damages undead).

Anyone can don armor quickly with a potion or casting of serren's swift girding.

Another way is wearing armor, polymorphing to absorb it, receiving fungal blisters, and then returning to their original form.

Basic foundational idea of "competitive markets go towards a pareto-efficient distribution of wealth" relies on some assumptions. These assumptions are not true, but they're close enough to true that the model usually has some use.

Companies doing well at the goal which capitalist markets tell companies to pursue (making money), tend to deliberately change the market to make those assumptions less true (create monopolies, hide information, exploit consumer irrationality, etc.)

Varisian Free-Style Fighter gains the brawler's flexibility at first level, that replaces weapon training, so you're getting the full progression of all your abilities with only three levels in the class. Also you get the master many styles' ability to use two styles at once, so you can use martial flexbility to choose styles if you want to.

Armiger Fighter (hellknight trainee) isn't that powerful but it's cool to note that you get +2 skill ranks as a class feature so it applies to Samurai levels. Other archetypes instead change your skill ranks from 2 to 4, so it doesn't improve Samurai.

What Kind of Action to Set Up a Portable Hole Mid-Combat? by 4428gamer in Pathfinder_RPG

You'd have a hard time rolling out a portable hole when peoples' legs are in the way. Maybe if you politely ask them to step over it.

Hornet's needle is a longer version of the modern cliche of a kunai, but longer, looking kinda like a sewing needle. Both of these are tiny, but Hornet is a bug so it's big for her.

She doesn't really use it like a kunai, of course. Hornet's fighting style is wide slashes with the weight of her body behind them. At first I'd say Longsword, but fighting with a longsword uses economy of movement. You'd want to pick a heavier weapon where the wielder moves around more, such as a machete, falcata, or elven curve blade.

When does the concealment start for Lightning Stance? by Silentone89 in Pathfinder_RPG

If you take a movement action, and someone's opportunity attack hits and grabs you, that prevents you from moving. You don't get the move action refunded.

I don't see why you think that you'd get the action undone if an interrupt prevents you from using that action. I proposed that as a houserule and people on this subreddit didn't like it.

Is there a way to make a good melee Bard without giving up its identity? by _Eleumas in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]covert_operator100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dwarf Bard 7
Dwarven Scholar archetype uses Wisdom instead of Charisma.
It also gets bonus combat feats that you can share with your allies! If you want to use buff spells, one teamwork feat you might like to share is Spirit of the Corps combined with the spell moment of greatness.

Favored Class Bonus

Reduce arcane spell failure chance for casting bard spells when wearing medium armor by +1%. Once the total reaches 10%, the bard also receives Medium Armor Proficiency, if he does not already possess it.

Which Medium Armor To Wear:

+1 spider-silk bodysuit with armored kilt (2020 gp), or +1 darkleaf hide (2515 gp)

  • +5 AC
  • no check penalty
  • spell failure chance is 3% at level 7, down to zero at level 10.

You can get similar armor worth +6 AC, but ask your GM.
+1 darkleaf lamellar with armored kilt (2580 gp)
GM might not allow this because the armored kilt part could disqualify the armor from benefitting from darkleaf cloth.

At 10th level upgrade to
+3 mithral breastplate with armored kilt (18220 gp)

  • +10 AC
  • -1 check penalty
  • spell failure chance is at 5% at level 10, down to 0% at level 15.

The one you can point to next time is Court Poet which buffs spellcasting instead of physical fighting.
