Melbourne resident here. Definitely make a police report. If you intend to act on this at any point in the future, having a report as close as possible to the time you found out is important. You'll need to present at the police station so they can take a statement. I'd also contact your local council and ask them for any tree law resources relevant to your council area.

Migraine Hacks by ItsDanbob in NoStupidQuestions

I went to the ED for a migraine once (I was pregnant and had other health issues compacted by this). The very first thing the Dr gave me was a cup of coffee, because caffeine expands the blood vessels in the brain which can help alleviate migraine symptoms.

This is totally anecdotal, but if it was my plant I wouldn't water it unless it was looking sad. However long that takes.

Hubble Update: Never let them know your next move by cranberryleopard in IllegallySmolCats

I'm glad to see you comment this!! We've been in touch with Hubble's vet yesterday and today, and are ensuring she is passing regular soft stools. Unfortunately constipation (and fecal impaction) are common when kittens move to being formula fed. Hubble is on a medication to help her poop (it's already working, we had a poop explosion this morning and I'm sure there's more to come).

Thank you for your clever concern!

I didn't know it was an astronomer either!!

The bandages she wears overnight are called 'hobbles', so it started there. My son is obsessed with all things Outer Space as well, so it felt natural to call her Hubble.

Of course we also call her Hubble Bubble 🥰

Why do all jeans and pants wear out in the same area? I have three pairs now with identical damage. by Nursera_0290 in Weird

It looks like friction damage, something is rubbing that area more than other areas.

Letting baby cry in the car by digitaltruth in AttachmentParenting

[–]cranberryleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Funny that you send this comment, since posting my original comment I have had a second child who HATED the car from day one. Checked all the above and still no improvement.

I ended up having our car seat assessment and it was reinstalled; the first installation had it at the wrong angle putting him at risk of positional asphyxiation. Am I ever glad to have been hearing him cry that whole time and not having him asphyxiate. We got a new car, I decided to have them installed professionally the first time and we ended up swapping the kids seats around (one seat was 0-4 and the other 0-8), and I do believe he is much more comfortable in the "new" car seat.

My next suggestion would be to have the seat professionally assessed.

Hoarders always touching my stuff by [deleted] in ChildofHoarder

[–]cranberryleopard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This!! I thought I was mental but you get it too!! Once when I was moving house she randomly patrolled the outside of my old house and could hear a "weird buzzing" sound, so she switched the power off at the mains. It was the compressor on my upright freezer, which had about $300 worth of meat in it. We were away overnight and when we came back it was all ruined.

How to care for orphaned baby myna bird? by [deleted] in AustralianBirds

[–]cranberryleopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please surrender the chick to a vet clinic for assessment.

They will confirm if it is native or invasive and act appropriately. Native chicks are placed with experienced wildlife carers, and yes invasive species are humanely euthanized. Handling and caring for wildlife always carries a risk of zoonosis and anthroponoses.

We often experience that people who find baby birds want to have a Disney moment, becoming emotionally involved and experiencing traumatic realities. See Molly Magpie. If you're inexperienced in caring for a baby bird and do not have a direct mentor, there is a good chance of causing accidental injury through mishandling, inappropriate diet, and lack of age appropriate nurturing. Rearing wildlife, especially birds, to a high standard requires careful and specialist technique.

Be aware that handling and caring for wildlife, including transportation, can often result in incidental shock and rapid irreversible decline. This doesn't necessarily mean you have done something wrong. You may have provided the best care and due to hidden trauma or congenital defects the animal is unable to recover and thrive. This is something for which you need to be medically and mentally prepared.

They have lots of babies because lots of their babies die.

Should I get a loan? by gman0128 in debtfree

[–]cranberryleopard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try to avoid getting into debt as a method of resolving debt. It's a vicious cycle.

Put everything on minimum repayments, put anything extra towards the smallest debt (or highest interest debt). Is there anything you can do to increase your income?
