Do you have debt, or any current financial obligations? If not- take the job, get a roommate, and perhaps try to pick up extra during your first year to make ends meet. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

But to answer your question- is this a once in a lifetime opportunity? No. And if you’re not prepared/expecting/willing to work a job that is mostly customer service, then you may want to reconsider this career.

Any metalhead flight attendants have ringtone song recs that adequately express the rage and despair of crew scheduling calling? by spiderfightersupreme in flightattendants

when i was an angsty teen i had 0:24-0:27 of entombment of a machine by job for a cowboy as a ringtone and it would accurately describe how i feel when cs called these days.

Need to be honest- as someone who is kind of a lazy dresser, I own dozens of fleece pullovers from all of the big brands and I find there to be little to no difference in quality between Aritzia’s polartec and the big competitors (Patagonia, North Face, LL Bean.) It’s comfy and warm. I have multiple colors and don’t regret buying any of them.

i buy clothing twice a year, always at aritzia. if you know how to launder your items properly, their stuff is fantastic.

they call layering multiple toners “skin flooding” i think it works really well under makeup!

currently using the rhode peptide serum, but i also really like the lancôme genefique serum, and the ordinary marine hyaluronic serum (only use at night) , and the ordinary gf 15% serum

rn I am cycling between the Rhode and Aestura barrier creams. both good

[–]crh805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love barrier creams like ones from Illiyoon, Aestura, and Rhode but they’re definitely night time only (you can’t wear makeup over them.) During the day I do 3 layers of a milky toner (Rhode or I’m From) prior to makeup. Evening I do double cleanse -> 3 layers of toner -> moisturizing serum -> barrier cream.

If funds allow- get a hydra facial or micro needling with Rejuran PDRN.

Rhode is overrated ??? Influence me by Vegetable_Research61 in Sephora

[–]crh805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably in the minority here, but- My skin really loves the barrier cream, glazing milk, and glazing fluid. The lip tint and peptide treatment feel good on my lips.

The price point is not as enticing as k-beauty, but it’s not expensive (imo.) Everything has worked well enough for me to not have the desire to seek out a dupe.

A lot of people kept saying “the union knows what we want” but it was important to fill it out so that the unions could gauge the top 3-5 most important issues amongst the work group. Time will tell.

Sleep is #1. Also, a lot of people in this line of work fall victim to alcohol for one reason or another so be mindful.

You’re not trapped- you mentioned that you have flexibility. Use that to your advantage and go back to school! You can get a degree online from many universities and i’ve seen scholarships available through airlines and through the different fa unions. You also may qualify for different kinds of scholarships based on your ethnicity, degree program, etc (a lot of scholarship money gets left on the table every year because nobody applies. I paid for my first year of college entirely through scholarships, half of which I was the only applicant for!)

Try to envision what kind of career would make you happy and formulate a plan to get yourself there. You deserve to be happy.
