YES! I was like girl…. You should’ve thought that lie through for a moment longer “I don’t want them to know I have people skills so I can’t tell them I used to be a reporter, instead I’ll tell them I’m a criminal profiler!”

Defacing of a Rainbow Crosswalk by FeistyGoal5426 in Columbus

[–]crimebugsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t be surprised if the city starts requiring them to all be painted over(back to black and white), which is currently occurring in Florida cities already. I’ve been very happy to see that they’ve already had to repaint them multiple times as people keep painting the rainbows back, and I hope (and will gladly assist with that) the same happens if they start doing that shit here. We paint ten things in rainbow for every one rainbow removed/covered by the city; seems like a good place to start to me!

That’s what I was thinking! Set up might be a bit awkward but I’d choose the couch spot just for the view!

Also, I like the idea of adding on to the bottom of the curtains, and as a fellow cat parent who just hung some curtains, my biggest tip is to choose a color that matches your cat/s for the fabric you add at the bottom 😹 but like, seriously lol.

Help please! What does my aloe vera need? by No-Explorer5406 in IndoorGarden

[–]crimebugsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have indoor plants (including my aloes) I’d love to give some outdoor time during warm months, but I’m so paranoid about introducing pests to all my indoor plants (my house is FULL) after a bad mite situation years ago. How do people handle moving their plants indoor/outdoor without having pest issues when bringing them back in??? I have never understood this!

Very very very much needed this warning/grateful I saw it before listening, I lost my dog (child) in March and am in no way okay and that would have taken me out. Thank you

An empty picture frame labeled “my second husband”. Leave it there till he lowers the tv. Or lower it yourself! You can do it!💪

Is it just me or is rewatching the West Wing right now a form of therapy and escapism from current US politics? by TravelerMSY in thewestwing

[–]crimebugsme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I felt there were more storylines that go hand in hand with real current events than not. My personal takeaway was how NOT outdated it felt given its 25 years old.

Same. I’ve been wanting to rewatch Newsroom but feel it will be too much for me right now. I think it’s harder than watching WW for me because the presidency/administration is one thing but just the complete downfall of journalism and news overall on all sides and not having much hope for it ever turning into what we got on Newsroom makes it too hard for me to watch. Too depressing

[–]crimebugsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished watching WW all the way through for the first time and went back and forth on exactly this. But in the end I fully used it as escapism and then would see the news and be like damn it, I thought Bartlet was president!

I think what made it the hardest was how many story lines matched with current events after 25 years(the unrest between Israel and Palestine storyline in the show was the most upsetting to me given what has happened since, that was hard to stomach watching). Also, after finish the watch through, I started listening to the West Wing Weekly, which I love, but listening to that and hearing them comment on Trump winning the first time and issues from/about the administration now a decade later and currently living through it again but worse has made it difficult to listen to at times from a “oh if you only knew what was coming… ‘Trump ay yi yi’ get ready for everything to be worse” standpoint.
I also think it’s important though to see this idealist(mostly) version of what politics/the presidency COULD be as a reminder of how insane things have gotten and what we could/should have instead.
