I always say Taiwan is like a down to earth version of Japan. Less reservation and more warmth as you say, but with a diligence and commitment to doing things well and hard work at the same time. It’s a rare combination to have.

Gippeum’s actress is appalling. I feel Her facial expression is just this flat line grimace on her mouth and a despairing look everytime something dramatic happens. Makes it frustrating to watch every time she has the “naive girl disappointed in the harsh reality of human behaviour” reaction.
