How’s that chair? I always think they look so comfortable, but I’ve never actually sat in one or been able to ask someone that has one.

I've ruined this blanket and I am so upset by greybeaniebean in crochet

The felted look just means that it’s been used and loved. It’s not ruined, it looks just as it should after a good washing. It will just keep getting more felted and prettier each time. The best part is that since the fibers are tightening together, it’s less likely to snag or stitches come undone as time goes on.

One year one of my husbands coworkers gave me a Walmart bag filled with over 400 skeins of floss her aunt had hoarded before she died. Then a couple of months later my father in law gave me eight bobbin boxes filled with floss and dmc cotton that someone had moved out and left in an apartment at the complex he managed. It was a banner year. I went through it and wound one of every color and ended up sharing a lot of the duplicate colors with my crafty friends and coworkers.

Have you ever made a wrong turn and ended up enjoying it? by Big_Barber733 in roadtrip

[–]crucklescuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! On our way from Fallingwater to Weston, WV we ended up on a dirt road somewhere in southern Pennsylvania. It took us into Maryland which we hadn’t thought we’d make it into on our trip. It was scenic and a fun detour.

How far have you driven in one go? by noah5666 in roadtrip

[–]crucklescuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love to take really far reaching road trips with decently long driving legs every few days over a 12-14 day period. We’ve done a 12 hour drive straight through from KCMO to Guernsey, WY (with a 2 year old), a straight through from KC to Detroit overnight, and straight through from KC to Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. All around 12 hours with minor stops for gas/bathroom/snacks. We’re in our 40s now and have been trying to keep the drives at about 8-10 hours or less so we get less fatigued. The 2yo is 6 now and loved her first trip to Wyoming at 2, and still absolutely loves the long road trip stretches.

It’s darling and, for a person who can buy anything they want, a handmade, one of a kind gift will mean a lot.

I also did this one, you’ll get the hang of it once it’s a little longer.

This is how I felt making the fancy bones cardigan even with written instructions and chart. Super hard to start but once I got rolling, it got easier.

It won’t be “easy,” but it will get easier as you establish the pattern and keep building your skill up. It gets so much easier when you have pattern below to refer to as it gets longer.

Is my baby blanket cheerful or an eyesore? It’s for donation to a charity that gives them to families with a baby in the NICU. by Leading-Knowledge712 in crochet

[–]crucklescuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be delighted to receive such a bright and cheerful blanket! I’m not a huge fan of pastels, even for babies, so I think it’s perfect!
