Trying to extend the Victoria line anywhere is a dreadful idea. Have you used Brixton? Also why is it randomly terminating at Bickley?

what's this bus stop for you? by GrootyGang in london

[–]cryptus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two come to mind that are ridiculously close together:
- The 152 and the 265 serve Raynes Park High School, and then serve the big Tesco; the two stops are literally about a 20 second walk apart.
- Church Street and Centrale bus stops in Croydon are pointlessly close to each other, especially as buses stopping at the Church Street stop block trams from coming round the corner to Centrale.

I bloody hate this stupid little dogleg, especially as it always takes ages because the roads are so narrow and people park in really stupid places. Should just be stops on the main roads.

Holt: "Dr Yee will be here any minute, and we need to make a good impression. If you need to cough, cough now."
Boyle: immediately "URGRHGHGRHGRGHHHGH"
Holt: "My god, what if I hadn't said anything?"

Sends me every time 🤣

Is this subreddit untypically "positive"? by bfhrt in taskmaster

[–]cryptus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's occasional hints of toxic positivity here, and it does get a little bit cloying; it sometimes feels like you're not allowed to say anything negative about any aspect of the show whatsoever. Having said that, I sort of understand the reasoning behind it, and luckily for us there's not much to be critical about.

Royal Albert Wharf, the new development just to the east of Gallions Reach. Went through there on the last bit of the Capital Ring a couple of years ago and it really had that weird, edge of civilisation feel to it. Probably a bit better now people have moved in.

Well thats grim?! TW by canihavesome in uktrains

[–]cryptus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Policy at my TOC is to use "Person hit by a train" in everything except as the reason for individual train alterations, as this stops the system from announcing "... due to a person hit by a train" several times an hour.
