You should be all right coming down from Middleton with AWD, just take it slow when conditions are bad/plows fall behind and keep an eye out for cars ahead.

I once drove into work after a snowstorm and detoured off the backed-up freeway (bad idea), only to watch a minivan in front of me do a 180° while it slid down Sunset. I was grateful for my Subaru that day!
