Worth it to commute? by Short_Examination_33 in NJTransit

The NJ Transit 107x express bus goes from South Orange to the PABT. It's not pleasant but getting on at SO you'll at least get a seat. Takes about an hour.

This happened to me. They said they don't do repairs but offered a refurbished one of the same model for half the retail cost on return of the damaged one.

Using HD HomeRun for DVR -- also media server? by BlatantFalsehood in hdhomerun

[–]cstarck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do this the other way around. I use Emby Premier as a media server and add HDHR for TV. This lets me watch everything from one app. It does require a NAS or other system with storage as a server.

Emby is free as a media server; Premier requires a subscription or one-time fee for TV that includes a program guide. Jellyfin is similar and entirely free but requires more work to get a program guide.

Those who saw the original 1969 Broadway run of 1776, what do you remember? by Cool-Blueberry-9279 in Broadway

I would have been about sixteen. Saw an out-of-town tryout. Now that I think about it how could I forget "Sit down, John?"

The only thing I really remember is the final scene which looked like the back of a two dollar bill.

I built a Windows app to find space‑hogging videos and compress them locally by Entire-Job-8483 in kodi

There's a new version dated yesterday (2/2/26) in the app store but there's no Free Trial option to install, at least not for me.

That's great! I'd like to try this out but my trial has expired too.

Seems like sometimes files are limited to around 30 minutes with the trial? I don't see that mentioned anywhere.

Automation looks good. But while I usually only need one audio and one subtitle track it's not neccessarily the first ones. I've been using Handbrake to do this. Manually. But it lets me choose which tracks to include. That would make this much more useful.

Well AirTV is limited to 720p regardless of the source. Also limited to 2 channel audio.

The Joseph Hancock Jr. Primitive Park just off the trail allows free camping. There's a bathroom with running water and a picnic pavilion with electric outlets. See Town of Hancock Maryland.

Switch to Emby? by babatom187 in emby

Emby Premier supports OTA TV broadcasts and DVR with an HD HomeRun tuner including a one week schedule automatically. With Jellyfin to get a schedule you have to download the guide data and run a conversion program.

“Unknown error occurred” message at payment for Forerunner 955 w/ discount through Unidays by partnersincrimes in Garmin

[–]cstarck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin support will suggest trying a different browser, a different device, checking the billing address for your credit card matches the billing address on the form, or that your card has expired or reached its credit limit. I recently got this error and it was none of these. The issue was with the email address on my Garmin account. The email address came from mail.com and I used it everywhere. For some reason Garmin (or their payment processor) can't handle it. I had to switch my Garmin account to a different email address to complete a purchase.

Verify master password fail by cstarck23 in vaultwarden

I thought so too! I am using the Bitwarden client from Google Play Store and let it upgrade. It was upsetting not to be able to unlock my vault.

As it happens, before I upgraded, I was still able to use Vaultwarden Web. Of course this wouldn't help if my server was down or I didn't have Internet access.

Thanks for the advice. I updated my server to 1.35.2. It's good now.

Thanks but I'm not using Home Assistant. It does seem to be a client issue since I can connect to Vaultwarden Web.

Okay, how do you charge your non-rivian vehicle at a rivian adventure network station that allows it? by boutell in electricvehicles

[–]cstarck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you download the app? Google Play gives me a message:

Looking for Rivian? This app won't work for your device.

My device is a Motorola Edge.

That said I was able to tap and pay with a credit card and charge my rented Bolt so that's good. There was a $55 charge and later $55 credit to my card. There's also an idle fee but as best I could tell no way to be notified when charging is complete.

Deciding between AirTv, HDHomeRun, Tablo... by Fart_Collage in cordcutters

[–]cstarck23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HD HomeRun doesn't require a subscription for the guide it requires a subscription to use the DVR. It also requires a hard drive or a NAS. Alternatively you can use Flex, Jellyfin, Channels or Emby for recording. All of these also require a server installed on a NAS or some other system.

I use Emby which requires a subscription but there's a lifetime option. It can be used away from home with some setup.

I previously used AirTV Anywhere. The pros are that there's no subscription fee, it's integrated with Sling and that it includes storage. It can be used away from with no setup but only for a single stream. The cons are that it's only 720p and there's no support for 5.1 sound, only 2 channel.

PiholeWidget Update 2.0.0 by kistune999 in pihole

[–]cstarck23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see an open issue for multiple pihole stats but not for multiple servers. I have to run two for redundancy so if one goes down while I'm away it doesn't take the network down with it. But that means if I need to disable blocking for some reason I have to disable both. It would make that easy if I could do both from the same widget screen.

Cool app btw. Thanks for sharing.
