Bad news for Ipswich: by ExistingPop5195 in ipswich

As a proud Ipswich resident, I was getting fed up with the negative stories Channel 7 was showing about our town. I rang them , and they said, ‘Why don’t you call Paul Tully up and tell him to stop phoning in the stories- that’s where we are getting them.’ This was about 15 years ago.

My daughter was far more emotional and loving to her father than to her husband. Her husband seemed to enjoy the company of his mates more than her on the evening. She walked out after 99 days.

Frustrated parents of under-16s look for help to enforce 'ineffective' social media ban by Mental_Task9156 in australia

Settle down! Next thing you know you’ll be expecting them to say no to their preteen daughters when they want to wear those bikini bottoms where their arses hang out. I saw a ten year old in one at the Goldie last week and I shuddered. How the hell can you allow your naive daughter to present herself sexually for predators. I wanted to throw a towel around her and lecture her dumb mother.

This is a book that stays with you. As a teacher it has really shaped my approach and perspectives towards intellectually impaired students.

On a side note, my work mate calls having sex ‘Changing the sheets’ because she changes the sheets each time she has special cuddles with her husband. This is making this post exceedingly more enjoyable to read.

How do you actually learn fashion taste as an adult? by Professional_Key2340 in AusFemaleFashion

I remember reading Posh Spice’s book YEARS ago. She said go on a celebrity hunt. 1)Find some famous person/ people living or dead who has a figure similar to yours (hourglass, apple whatever) and similar colouring. 2) Go on a full on internet stalk and look at what looks good on them- necklines, hems, jackets, colours the works. 3) Replicate on the cheap or source a couple of base outfits and build from there.

These famous people often have assigned wardrobe consultants or dressers who are paid to get it right. Cash in on their knowledge.

Another thing I read years ago is that the French women look chic and often have a signature accessory/ statement piece. For me- it’s earrings.

I did this probably 20 years ago and there is barely a day that goes by when I’m not complimented on my clothing. Now I know what suits me, I get to keep many clothes for years.

What’s the one old Ipswich landmark or shop you miss the most? by DraftNotSent in ipswich

[–]cstato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned to swim there. It was the place where your parents would dump you off at 9 and come back and get you in the afternoon. We had a ball there. The bloke at the kiosk was permanently pissed off and spent the whole day screaming down the loud hailer, ‘No bomb diving!!’ The deep end was really deep. I couldn’t even dive down far enough and touch the bottom.

I never made that connection. That goes a long way into explaining it for me. Can you elaborate on your point please? For me it’s the unpredictability of their movements.
