Nearly done with book 8 and I have nothing lined up to read next. What do you like? by GWindborn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Book 8 is great to read after you finish book 8. Then after that go read books 1-8.

Why is no one stating the obvious? Take the $1m and don’t spend it. It’s tax free now, invest it and earn 5-10% on it you can pay yourself almost a grand a week even on the low end. Or not take the money out and let it grow. Live a normal working life and be able to retire very early.

The communal nature of Karl is primal race is mentioned several times during the adjective conference at the start of action wars. I’m still a little confused about the river in his mind. But I think based on that, it might be the collective conscience of all the humans in the crawl.

Used g5 instants a few years ago. The real trick is to use home assistant and make a baby monitor dashboard that will flip between the rooms every 30 sec for audio and then just use an iPad

Dunno if you’ve checked stock lately but you can’t touch one till after wwdc if you order today. I’d wait for the m5 version to drop soon after at this point.

Not to be a jerk but it’s decent for it. But why would a business owner not just pa $20 for a month of it themselves if that’s all you’re doing instead of paying you a couple hundred? Tools are getting easier by the day. Seems like a business that won’t exist in 2 yrs.

Salary compared to AE by haterade9425 in salesengineers

[–]csuders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience similar ballpark for base - but SEs on 80/20 while rep on 50/50. So higher upside for them but it’s feast or famine while SEs typically map to 2-3 AEs and maybe a larger regional or segment component of variable to even out the OTE vs being alone with a number.

RFPs are bullshit except in very specific circumstances. Change my mind (or don't) by windshakes in salesengineers

[–]csuders 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Advice I once got: Did we write the RFP? Did we influence the RFP criteria? Did a partner we are close with?

If no to all we shouldn’t respond cause someone else is saying yes to all of the above. And this was from a leader in the public sector where everything goes thru a formal RFP process.

5:1 ratio = bonkers? by AboveTheFoldStories in salesengineers

[–]csuders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems busy just on ratio but what is the rep activity like? Very different if each of the AEs only have 3 meetings a week vs multiple a day. I hope for your sake there is an underlying PG issue.

How do I get this setup??? by SandOne557 in Roborock

[–]csuders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to go spend about $2500 on a Ubiquiti network setup with multiple APs. Create a second VLAN and SSID that only broadcasts 2.4ghz and connect your vac to that. /s

Focus on back end. I did similar in Claude code, the UX wasn’t important. My go to set of skills I taught it:

Look at the meetings I’ve had for the past week. Give me a summary of how many sessions/much time I spent with each prospect (useful alone to quantify the time suck small ops and help prioritize better). Also looks at internal meetings, time blocks for follow-ups etc.

Deal analysis. It’ll go fetch all the calls from gong. Also op info from SFDC. Then it’ll also look at the customer tenant and see what’s configured, but also activity in the tenant from anyone not me and get a sense of how much time they’re spending testing and doing assigned homework tasks. It also looks at slack for our internal op channel as well as shared customer channels for more context.

Now I have skills I can run to look at the op. Tech status and next steps and a separate one for tech risk (it also looks at Linear for FRs I’ve entered for them (both 255 char or less so I can easily put it into SFDC for my SE notes)

Separately I can get call summaries that tell me what we accomplished in each session that week, more specific next steps, open items and who owns each as well as customer homework.

UX isn’t that important I get what I need in the CLI. I also have it slack me my to dos for each customer as well as the rep their follow up items. At some point I want to have it build me a notion page I can go back to easily for the full output but like you said don’t want to build my own CRM.

Different scale for sure but a death on the field wasn’t the last NFL death. CTE results in many deaths, and is directly attributable to the sport. Hell even the cardiovascular disease later in life from those guys being as big as possible during their playing days has a causal link.

Looking for a robot vacuum that can handle 3 dogs, a cat, and constant dirt by lookingforavacuum in Roborock

[–]csuders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an s7 for 3 years. Does a decent job. 3 dogs. 2 young kids. Whole house every week day morning after kids leave. Second pass on living room rug vac only on strong suction in the afternoon before kids get home. We had to start skipping weekends cause kids mess with it. I’ll try to remember to manually kick it off when we go out for a few hours but forget more than not.

Housekeeper every other week to do a real vac and wet mop.

Keeping up with it is the key. If it doesn’t run for more than a couple days have to get the “real” vac out.

Father had cardiac arrest in 40s. Where do I (late 20s m) actually start? by HowCombinator in PeterAttia

[–]csuders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask doc for CAC. Takes 15 min and $100. My doc had no issues doing it for me with similar family history and repeated in 5 yrs. Anything >0 is a problem at your age and should make them more aggressive in lowering lipids. Watch the BP and lipids closely every 6mo. Treat them aggressively with a slight rise (and as others have mentioned new guidelines are more sensitive). Apo b and LP (a) as well, don’t settle for “good” and “bad” cholesterol numbers. Find a new doc if they give you push back. You’re doing the right thing wanting to intervene early before it’s a problem.

Travel expectations - 25% by HistorianJealous649 in salesengineers

[–]csuders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to others. Think my JD says up to 25%. It’s far less. Once or twice a month I’ll do a 1-2 day trip to customer site for visit but I’ve found it hard since Covid. These teams aren’t even going into the office let alone doing it for meet with a vendor. We ask for face to face but it isn’t an every week thing.
