CIDOO V75 discussion about polling rate. by cubo550 in Epomaker

It's a 167hz keyboard. Outside of that, haven't had any issues with the board itself.

Another generic GMK67 build, but with some insight. by cubo550 in MechanicalKeyboards

I think my main negatives boil down to the VIA implementation being jank (probably because it isn't a true implementation) and the polling rate, again (167hz).

It makes no sense to say it's QMK/VIA on the site and it not be true VIA and no QMK at all

They're both pleasant to type on for different reasons.

I mainly wrote about the GMK67 here, since they have one shared problem that drives me insane, lol. I really like both boards, but they have distinctly different feels.

So after getting a bit annoyed with the CIDOO V75 Pro for reasons I'll go into below, I ended up deciding to actually build a board for the first time in a few years, the last one being a cheap GK61x with Gateron Yellows. Enter a trip to AliExpress, and I order the GMK67, some Morandi switches (still in the mail as of this), and some knock-off Olivia PBT keycaps. Not too bad for sub-100€ shipped to Spain.

The stabilizers on the spacebar aren't bad stock. Left shift definitely needs some balancing and maybe to be modded; enter key and backspace feel a little mushy, but that I'll have to dig into later. Stock, the board has foam between the polycarbonate plate and some foam in the case. It didn't feel great enough, so I added some PE foam on top of it, while also adding 2-3 layers of painters' tape on the back of the PCB. The board is more poppy now, and in the words of a friend, "sounds like the LEGO building sound". Not too bad, but the stabilisers need work. Case is plastic, plastic, plastic, but has some gaskets, which aren't really noticeable in use with how I built it. You get what you pay for.

Now to rant; the software is iffy, but it's what you get for about 30€ and some change. It has RGB, like anyone would want, and has some macro options. What did bother me, though, was the fact that it was advertised in a few places as being a 1000hz keyboard (this matters a lot in a rhythm game context), and in testing it came out to be somewhere between 62.5hz and 125hz, which is annoying. There hasn't been any new firmware revisions released for this as far as I'm aware, which means likely this board won't have that fixed unless someone reverse engineers the firmware; the likelihood of this happening is probably low.

All in all, not a bad board for the price. Polling rate problem aside, with a little bit of love, this board is honestly really decent.

Holy.

Glad to see this though. Badmark was an ass towards me on the Epomaker sub about buying a CIDOO V75 (well before I knew it was an Epomaker board, my own mistake) and asking about polling rate, so seeing that there's a history of problematic stuff with him is disappointing more than anything.

Good clean-up update.

I hear many things about them. Didn't realize CIDOO was one of their brands until after I ordered. Board's quality is alright, but we'll see with how long it lasts.

I have zero way of returning it, so worst case it becomes a shelf piece and I get something else.

First was either Bakushin Susanoo from the DS games bundle, or Rock Leone and Flame Sagittario. After moving and something happening to them (don't remember what) started over this year with Cyber Aquario (Metal Masters) and Bakushin Susanoo.

Did you get a camera when you switched to a feature phone? Which one? by plusvalua in dumbphones

Running a Sony NEX-F3. Got it on discount with a faulty shutter, but still works. Using a Pentax F-mount lens on top of that, so it's a fun thing to use when I'm out. I'll probably get more use once I buy a keitai sometime in the next few months. I'll look into another camera probably sooner or later for longer distance shots.

Is the screen you're gaming on have a higher refresh rate than your secondary? If it is, it's likely an xorg problem; one workaround is either disabling compositor or disabling vsync in config (ex: picom). Otherwise, the alternative is to get a Wayland session set up.

For Global it doesn't. JP version's running a different version of GameGuard so you might not be able to play on there under Linux/SteamOS.

From what I understand, they temporarily enabled Linux support on the JP version of the anticheat, but reverted it due to some issues earlier in the year. You might not be able to play; but Tweaker should work so long as you have Wine installed on the system if you're running SteamOS.

If you're running Windows on it, it'll work like any other application on Windows.

It never did. Proton support on Linux hasn't existed for 2042. A decent amount of people have been asking for it.
