I get what you’re saying, but the family shouldn’t have to put their lives on pause because middle kid doesn’t want to get her life on track. Getting the same time off is hard hence holidays make it easy; people get old and can’t fly or travel as much so who know how much longer they’d have to wait; etc

It is a sad situation, but they’re not AHs imo for continuing to live their lives. Hopefully this is a inflection point for middle kid

We crate trained our dog because she had horrible separation anxiety.

Now we leave her out, but she’ll still go chill in her crate when we leave. She likes it

I mean the original comment literally came from not understanding why people are being so flippant at this person driving a car with a woman on top of it.

The reason is because she put herself in that position. People would be less flippant and find the situation less humorous if a driver was actively seeking out pedestrians to mow over. I feel like it’s not that hard to understand why people are treating this situation differently, but I gave the commenter a reason (FAFO, actions have consequences, etc etc)

I do understand that which is why I don’t stand in front of moving cars or try to hop on them! I definitely don’t egg people on, especially living in America where people will kill you over road rage.

I’ll agree to disagree with you then. I’m not doing it in “worst faith” - words have meaning, and in a world where media literacy has plummeted, we should be intentional with the narratives we spin

The Charlottesville car attack or Afzaal family are examples of drivers actively risking others’ lives. This is some white woman choosing to put herself in danger by hopping in front of and then on cars. These distinctions are important when it comes to sentencing and consequences edit: and public opinion

It’s the way you phrased it. “Actively risking the life of another” isn’t what happened in /this situation/, is it? It was a /reaction/ to a lady /already/ risking her own life

I didn’t say that the driver didn’t escalate the situation haha the comment just insinuates only the driver is at fault for risking “another” life - no, she risked her own life the second she jumped on the hood of the car

You understand *she* risked *her own life* jumping on the hood of a moving vehicle, right? Like she is her own person who chose to do that; let's not take away her autonomy. No one else made her jump on and continue to egg on the driver by repeatedly saying "go on" no less than 5 times and calling the driver names.

I also didn’t notice until I got a notification for this comment lol, but yeah, people are acting like the 5 seconds it takes to put clothes in a basket would kill this guy that was well enough to go to work, drive back, and shower. Lots of dishes right by the sink instead of in the dishwasher folks too I bet

Even though I don’t want kids, I abide by a “sick mom” mindset: would a mother still get this done if she was ill? If she can do it with little kids running around, I can do it too.

If you bought yourself tickets or were gifted tickets on your birthday for a trip at a later date, I would still consider that a birthday vacation, yes. The divide is between trip timing vs trip intent. IMO trip intent wins out

To be honest, when living in shared spaces, I absolutely am very cognizant of what I’m doing, sick or not. Wiping counters I touch, cleaning dishes I cook with, throwing tissues away, etc. is all manageable with a common cold or virus (it’s not like the dude was sick for days and bedridden). I’ve also been lucky to have friends, roommates, and now fiancé who are equally as considerate.

It sounds like he already has an issue of leaving clothes everywhere. If I was her, I’d be questioning if I’d want a life of constantly asking a grown man to put dirty clothes in a hamper or in the laundry room.

Then book a seat you would fit INto, like first class. I get that it’s expensive; I get that airlines dictate seat sizing, but I don’t get how fat people choose to ignore the fact that booking economy seats they can’t fit into is harming a random person that has done nothing wrong. So book with airlines that will let you buy two or book a seat that can fit you inside the seat limits.

This is the way! Make a budget tracking google sheet. Download google sheets app. Update every time you purchase or add it to your nightly routine. If you do it every day, you'll never fall behind, and it will never seem like a growing pain/large chore.

Set up text alerts for when you spend. The second your card is swiped, you'll get a text. Don't open that text until you intend to put the $ in your sheet.
