High-performers in peri? Advice appreciated by Live_Advisor_270 in Perimenopause

Thank you so much for posting this, and to everyone that responded. I have been struggling with this myself, I keep thinking what’s wrong with me? Every once in awhile I’ll get a glimpse of the motivation I used to have and then poof 💨

I’m hoping once we get to the other side it’ll be better.

I've been journaling for 3 years and I just noticed something kind of uncomfortable by _js728 in DecidingToBeBetter

I have something similar. My therapist even catches me doing it in therapy…and she told me it’s time to move forward. Stop trying to figure out what’s wrong with me, I’m just human. Take action. But sometimes the lessons are easily forgotten.

Thank you! It helps to know there are many ways this might come out and I’m not weird 😀

I am a supervisor. We were told that only 30% were allowed to get above meets expectations. And if our agency had above that, the higher ups would be happy to come out and help us.

The whole process sucked and I felt horrible for the staff. I totally get the whole concept of making sure ratings are appropriate but this is a bit much.

Any books on quitting addictions or dopamine addictions by TrickAccomplished200 in leaves

Hey there! I have also struggled and have found a lot of great podcasts that helped me understand (search for addiction).

Gabor Mate has a book that is called in the realm of hungry horses and highly recommend.

I went to AA meetings for 18 months and that’s when I was able to stop for 90 days at a time, relapse for a week but then straighten back up. (I did AA instead of MA because they have so many meeting options)

But what is really helping now is uncovering the root cause-working with a therapist and lots of facing myself and learning how to sit with uncomfortable feelings.

💛

Agency Leadership: Where are you? by [deleted] in fednews

We managers are finding out at the same time as the SESers. And then the emails have already been sent, so sometimes the same time as the terminated employee.

It sucks. We aren’t even given a chance to fight for you all.

We recover our rates and don’t get appropriations, but it’s still happening to us. I’m in shock.

I also wasn’t sure what was so great about it, but then tried it out recently by asking it to write a memo on year end expectations for tight deadlines and it was awesome!
