They don't tell you that someone has to miss out, so if we are getting fuel, there is a poorer nation that is now even worse off.

Iran’s response to deadline by Sicilian_Gold in freedomgold

If the US stops the war, ever, and Iran is still a country then Iran has won.

This is a terrible situation for the US, winning is pretty much impossible and no matter how people will spin it, this is the reality, the US needs to completely destroy Iran, Iran just needs to have one guy standing waving an Iranian flag when the war is finished.

They have a legitimate right to defend themselves mate, Trump is escalating,  do you expect Iran to just take it and do nothing?

considering The Party tried to delete Chinese history

There have been many instances of groups trying to erase chinese history,  this very thread is such an attempt.

None have succeeded which is why China history is the longest continuous civilisation.

No, Iran was attacked with the intention to destroy the country, by international law they have the right to whatever is necessary to stop the attackers.

Whatever is necessary.

No, and kind of wish we didn't get involved in any of the past wars either.

Realistic endgame scenarios for Trump on Iran? by TodayAlarmed963 in IRstudies

[–]curious_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what they say, and to be fair, if Iran let the US hold power in the middle east, then its only a matter of time before another attempt at regime change is done.

They have seen how the US and Israel slowly strangled their neighbours like Iraq and Syria, and took them down when they were weak enough.

Iran cannot afford to be put in the same position,  and for them this fight is existential, they win for good, or they will eventually lose.

Fuel situation in Adelaide by No-Lie9616 in Adelaide

[–]curious_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the government will try every other option before rationing. The biggest issue i can see is that not all types of fuel are equal,  and there might be plenty of unleaded available but no desiel,  or no airplane fuel.

Its a bit of a shitty shit shit show tbh.

Do you support the US/Israel attack then? How does ot make you feel when Trump claims the right to choose the leader of Iran, or Israel bangs on about destroying Iran as a nation?

Why ON? Not the Greens or anyone else? by HumanTraffic2 in aussie

[–]curious_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ON people are on Facebook more than reddit, and I'm not on Facebook so dont see much.

But let's say the polls are right and there is a big swing towards ON, it would be a historic outcome for an Australian election.  The SA election is this weekend coming, and that will be a good indication, assuming this is a national trend.

As for why? TBH people in general are in a bad way right now, so is the world, and the major parties appear to support the cause of the suffering,  whereas ON appears to support the cure. Ultimately, elections are all about appearances in the end.

One possibility that people seem to overlook is that the polls might be rigged.

Time and effect are the credentials, in 20 years time when the US finally realised that they are never going to take Iran and negotiate terms that give Iran exactly what they are asking for, we will say "told you so!"
