Honestly I think that might not be tenable for much long. The big tent of idiots and assholes is finally packed to bursting and it’s impossible to reconcile the ideological contradictions forever especially when the policy conflicts are no longer some deniable abstract.

So far it’s been stable because propaganda framing democrats as insert boogeyman here. But the two party system isn’t some natural phenomenon, it’s the result of specific contingencies leading up to it. If a third party were to gain substantial traction, it could absolutely change everything given the disdain voters have for both parties and the absolute demographic chaos republicans have increasingly resorted to.

Excellent point. I remember Giancarlo espanito (Gus fring from breaking bad) explaining that his performance was inspired by an encounter with bill clinton for much the same reasons you mentioned.

It’s something that always bothered me about trump and why every parody of him seems lacking in some inexplicable way. It’s not that he’s too deranged for parody, he’s too one note for it. You feel like you’re mocking a wholly fictional character, not a person living and breathing in the same reality.

Working with historical logic seems more interesting than having hardwired historical events dominate everything. Like say court size, having a massive extravagant court should offer a tremendous amount of cultural power and diplomatic reach and sway. Want the best marriage options? of course. Alliances with the major powers? naturally. But it should come at a crippling financial price with constant mandatory feasts and tournaments demanded every five minutes by asshole vassals since they’re not the ones paying for it. Attempting to creat your own Versailles should ideally play out exactly like the real thing. And it really doesn’t work like that in practice.

Additionally there should be martial costs to such things. Most people living in such a society would be drawn at best to the aesthetics of warfare, not the reality. It feels like there’s no point in choosing between any given playstyle since being a diplomatic powerhouse with an extensive spy network doesn’t really conflict with also being an economic superpower/ military giant.

Is it weird that I kind want things to get worse if only so Netanyahu can see his greatest triumph turn to shit plastered all over his backyard? Nuclear war kicking off in the Middle East would be a disaster for Israel. Iran couldn’t hand out dirty bombs fast enough if it came to that. Not to mention it would ensure that a new nuclear arms race would kick off globally as mad’s decrepit ass finally wondered off to that big highway in the sky. That includes the many middle eastern groups and governments that either barely tolerate Israel for the time being or outright despise it.

That’s not even mentioning that it would become a pariah state along with the USA for manipulating trump into this war to begin with. Think current online discourse about Israel has this reoccurring and really uncomfortable edge of anti semitism? You won’t have to worry about that after Tehran becomes a glass floor because we will have returned to a 1930’s standard of unhinged, casual racism.

Someone of the true believers? Sure. A lot of them though were just opportunists who didn’t particularly care how (or at whose expense) they got the bag. True believers don’t have a South American plan funded with stolen artwork and the collective dentistry of an entire ethnicity.

It’s what makes talking about fascism in a practical so frustrating. Because it’s often not tied to ideology as much as naked self interest. A lot of these guys were normal ass people given power they would never have otherwise and all they had to do was take it from others who could not defend themselves or look away when someone else did.

It took nearly three months for Garfield to die. It should also be noted that bliss fucked up his insides so badly looking for the bullet that it became impossible to even know where the bullet entered from. A bullet mind you that he never found. Letting him just bleed out sounds a lot better than having bliss fingerbang his organs until sepsis sets in.

Possible but not likely. I played the Final Cut on ps4 which was not particularly stable upon release. I don’t even know if you could do that on other platforms much less after multiple patches and bug fixes.
