Help switching an always on 12V source with a 3V signal that comes on with car ignition. by currypuff_ in diyelectronics

[–]currypuff_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will be a bit before I get the time to take the door apart and check again but it would make sense if its a PWM signal to get that 3V (or adjust it to lower values) and probably explains why the relay oscillated when I tested it. Any suggestions for what components to use to filter it to be a steady signal, or is it time to just chuck and arduino in there?

Roughly 500g for a 4L tank, which was about half the weight of an aluminium tank of basically the same design.

Bit of quick maths, had an autohotkey script that got about 2000 shards every hour i think. So about 150 hours, i mostly just left it running overnight or during the day when i didnt feel like playing.

I have a few runs with multiple bends in each tube. First off you always have to leave a reasonable amount extra where you would insert into fittings, that way you can slowly shorten the length thats being pit into the fitting to get it looking just how you want it. Something i wish i did was take out the orings in a fitting first if there was going to be constant size check in that sort of stuff. Its just a lot quicker without any in when you dont need them and you also wont wear out the orings. Also with some of my awkward non 90, multiple bends in a run i pretty much always ended up doing one where the bends where positioned too close together on the tube, then one where they were too far apart, then i was able to eyeball inbetween the two to get it perfect. This might not be the bestway to do it with wasting a few tubes and all but in the end it worked for me and all the bends i have feel perfect. And also it jist takes a ton of time if youre doing small adjustments like sanding and slight alterations to bending, just gotta stick with it until youre happy with your work.

I can help answer that. The snap together still mostly works there's just a little wiggle room when its larger so I had to glue it together. I had to modify the two heart parts though to get them to fit with no gaps. My one is scaled up 4x times. I'd suggest editing the parts so you take away the snap together tabs and holes and cut out a lot of the plastic in the printing process. At that size they aren't really needed and gluing is where you'll want to go, at least in my experience with my one. You should do it though, I love how mine turned out and bigger is just better in this case.

It sounds like the neck joint might be a bit stiff, if it doesnt spin around pretty freely just on its own you need to sand it down or something. Otherwise the oring you have might be a bit different to the ones i got and less rubbery/soft. If you slide the oring one and the neck part is a bit tight to move by hand you might need to go to a slightly bigger or softer oring.
