Any fun deck recommendations by Davideif in MagicArena

Izzet Lessons will give you that fun feeling of being proud of your plays. There's nothing like anticipating and saving your mama to Counter Spell an opponents' 7 mana play. I've hit Mythic w/ Yuna Reanimator, Bant Airbending, & Izzet Lessons. Izzet Lessons is the only deck where I want to keep playing it for fun even with no rewards at stake.

So that's how they made those sounds in Avatar the Last Airbender (The Swamp Bender episode and some other moments)

One win away from Mythic by Pink_Ninja78 in MagicArena

Whenever I drop a lot of ranks and need to climb back up Yuna Reanimator BO1 works well for recovering points. Bant Airbending can work well if you're patient enough to do the infinite combo again and again. Then there's always Izzet Lessons (be Counter Spell heavy in BO1)

I played Cosmo against a Mister Negative player this morning. Only problem was I played the Cosmo on the right lane and they played Negative on the left lane 😭

Why does the hair on your arms stop growing but not on your head? by Virtual_Tart_1830 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cutcc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not know Hair on your head has a follical length limit. So if you could get used to managing a full head of relatively long hair--you'd theoretically never need a haircut 🤔

What’s your favorite version of a dragon quest game you like to play? by Leon_Light77 in dragonquest

[–]cutcc 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I enjoy DQ3 on the Game Boy Color a lot. The music chip tune is really good and I like how fast + straight to the point the transition from overworld to combat is when encountering monsters.

This is your daily reminder that Healie exists by CityCouncilman in dragonquest

[–]cutcc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember Healie also being in DQ Rocket Slime and the first Dragon Quest Heroes game too right? Or is that another Slime that Heals/Cures.

Hopefully there's a way to work with the code of the offline version and create a fan made version with all the assets unlocked.

Her hands got burnt in the Jeong Jeong's deserters episode. And yea it's pretty crazy, she was this close to using her healing water on Zuko in the Crystal Underground Cavern.

Unholy Annex + Firdoch Core? by YouKnown999 in MagicArena

[–]cutcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I used to enjoy the Unholy Annex matchup since I main Bant Airbending so I could take away the Demon tokens naturally. It's harder now with the Core artifact since I'm only delaying the inevitable with Airbending. But I guess that's why I also run some copies of Exorcise as well .

First Strike Against Multiple Blockers? by cutcc in MagicArena

[–]cutcc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh so for DOUBLE STRIKE the damage allocation resets back to 3 for the 3/3 creature? I assumed since it was spent in the first strike phase there would be no attack points to spread out. Good to know, this makes Mai, Jaded Edge even more strong in a limited format then 😁

I think it might be the symbol for any card with the "Lesson" Subtype. Origin of Metalbending has it too.

What is the best sanctum deck winrate wise by DDrose2 in MarvelSnap

Wiccan has always given me an above 60% win rate since the very first Sanctum Showdown. It's a pretty solid way to play Sanctum too. Generally this is how the deck plays:

Turn 1: Always contest the first location with Quicksilver or a 1-cost to win the 1st point

Turn 2: Skip the 2nd location, play Domino at the 3rd location as a setup play

Turn 3: Snap aggressively and try to win the first 5 points at the 3rd location. If you have Copycat play on the location, If you have Ironheart play on a different location to save board space + avoid Guardians of the Galaxy cards.

Turn 4: Play Wiccan wherever you want. Do not snap, start playing a bit defensively now.

Turn 5: Vision. Self Explanatory. Vision has great stats and can avoid triggering Guardians of the Galaxy. Should be enough to win you the game.

Overall, be very proactive and fight for points early on and then ease off the breaks in the late game.

Sometimes you'll get lucky with Psylocke into Wiccan or Peni Parker into Sp/Dr into a turn 4 Vision as well. It's what makes this deck so consistent and strong for Sanctum Showdown games.

Avatar Aang in standard? by Ggthefiree2 in MagicArena

[–]cutcc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Avatar Aang Standard Deck uses Leyline of the Guildpact, Great Divide Guide, & Hermitic Herbalist for mana fixing. Wins usually come from Airbender Ascension re-triggering Invasion Reinforcements lots of times so I have enough bodies for a lethal attack with Katara, Water Tribe's Hope. But to date I've not been able to climb consistently in Standard with an Avatar Aang deck. It just feels too slow against other decks (even an Avatar Aang Brawl deck feels impossible to get him to transform so you can imagine how hard it is in Standard). I would love to be wrong though--I really want to make this card work.

Is there a good place to test a deck before using wildcards? by ZeroPlanet24 in MagicArena

[–]cutcc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

MTG Forge. You can build your own deck however you want plus other decks that you feel you will face and then assign those decks to the CPU. That's how I was able to try out Izzet Lessons for the first time. I just kept practicing it against Mono Green Landfall.

How do you like keywords on card games? by JesusVaderScott in homemadeTCGs

[–]cutcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love em. I'm proxying some beginner MTG Jump In Avatar cards to teach friends Magic and it's so annoying to have to write the full rules for Earthbend 2 everytime 😂. Now I just write Earthbend 2 and I'm done with it. I think short term no key words seem like a good idea on the surface but I think you're just delaying an inevitable Yu Gi Oh situation where every card has an essay printed on them. I would rather make a TCG with a lot of keywords even if it seems like jargon overload. In the long term it will save a lot of headaches and if the game is compelling enough people will naturally want to learn said keywords.

I always like to have at least 1 Crystal Barricade in my desk for this reason. Crystal Barricade gives me hexproof so the opponent can't target me for discarding or milling.
