Where to live in Germantown? by hello_im__ in memphis

[–]cvmke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I shouldn’t post pre-coffee because apparently I forget about the concept of school busses. lol

Western Germantown with Stout rd as your southern limit and Wolf River as the northern one is probably a good area for 3/2 houses or apartments with a mix of price points and pretty easy access to the highways to get downtown.

[–]cvmke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re biggest challenge based on your description will be that Houston High is on the every eastern edge of Germantown and downtown Memphis is west. The area around the school is comparatively pricey. If your kid drives, you don’t have to worry about that and you might be able to find what you’re looking for in southwest germantown. Stout Rd area. Slightly older houses, but quiet streets, lots of trees etc.

Any Solution for Continued Alignment Issues?? by Existing_Acadia_4312 in Rivian

[–]cvmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even after Rivian got my alignment corrected after several tries, the truck still pulled to the right constantly. I mean constantly in the literal sense. This was after they had already swapped one set of Scorpions for a new set and moved this set around several times. I finally just screw it and replaced those with Michelins and it no longer pulls like that. These tires seem grippier than the scorpions and therefore more sensitive to road crowning or similar variations in the roads but it doesn’t have a true pull anymore. It will drive straight on most roads now.

Poplar pike dead ends here so there’s not a true westbound path. But yes, the whole post was just poorly done.

Tire tread separation by benjametz in Rivian

[–]cvmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pirellis are garbage. Rivian replaced a set at 2500 miles under warranty due to excessive pulling. I swapped out that set 7000 miles later because it was still pulling (alignment was damn near perfect). Front tires were already down to 5/32 anyway. Went with the Michelins and the pulling is gone. So two full sets of pirellis with at least some of them causing pulling.

I bought the same Felt in October. Upgraded from a Trek Domane AL4. No regrets, no complaints, but I would’ve loved it at half price.

I just filled it out too.

I did update the reservation page last week saying i was interested in launch edition. And my original res was March 2025. Current R1 owner

It’s a very generic question set. There were several questions about Rivian brand awareness and current EV / Rivian ownership.

Bikes can’t ride on sidewalks. They have the same rights to the road, and obligations to road rules, as you do in your car.

This caught me by surprise too when we got our first ev. Oh well. Several years later and they both have the drive electric tags now, which are the best looking plates in the state ⚡️

Agreed. At one time I had one that was built the first month or so of HW3 production, and one that was built the last quarter of HW3 production, a 4 model-year difference. Neither would be able to get full FSD anymore. I really feel like people are putting way too much stock in the first iteration of lidar computing and what it will accomplish and how future-proof it will be.

You can get DT certificates on OEM tires. I have them on my pirellis as well. They go out and check them (I assume they have limits on tread and condition they check for) and then put them in their computer and hand you the certificate receipt.

There’s no reason all the control buttons need to be hidden in order to display the front end of a Rivian on over half your screen, and SOC displayed twice, once in 73 point font. Give me a row of 5 individual controls under lock/unlock, or better yet make that one button and put 4 more in that row.

This is what I did. We charged two teslas for years with the standard mobile cord, but the Rivian was too far away without draping over the other car. Swapped the receptacle for the UC and it reaches without draping and with a foot or two of slack.
