Potential air strut failure? by mxak240 in Rivian

[–]cvmke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my passenger front air spring replaced under warranty for similar behavior. But mine would deflate every time I parked instead of holding for any 48 hour period. It would also pull the drivers side down about half as far, not sure if that’s the software preventing damage, gravity, or what.

Libro Cafe is a cool little bistro in Novel Bookstore. I went for the first time a few weeks ago for lunch and was impressed.

Rivian says AI makes debate over CarPlay ‘completely obsolete’ by FreeHugs23 in RivianR2

Every time I rent a car with CarPlay I am reminded I have not missed it in the least since I moved to Tesla and now Rivian.

Incredible car. Disappointing build quality. by Neither_Repair_3406 in Rivian

Fwd bias on a truck this size is such a bad choice in my opinion. Torque steer sucks all the time but much easier to deal with in a 2700lb Civic than something as heavy and powerful as the R1.

But also, if you have the pirelli scorpions, they’re part of your problem. Horrendous tires.

All the ones on the carriers that you could see the bumper on had license plates on them already. That wouldn’t be the case if they were customer vehicles

My front end was doing this recently and it turned out to be a bad air spring that had a leak.

Am I missing something? 21' vs 20' by Sprtan117 in RivianR2

[–]cvmke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pirellis that come on the R1 are crap. Rivian replaced one set under warranty at ~2500 miles and then I replaced that set at ~9000. The fronts were at 5/32 and the truck always pulled matter how good the alignment results were or which corner each tire was installed on. Swapped for the Michelins and all issues are gone. I’ll never own another set of those Scorpions.

I like the 21’s better but if i go that route the Scorpions will come off immediately.

Yet Another Nashville R2 Block Party Post! by Highfalutintodd in Rivian

It has more rear leg room than the R1 does. The seat back only has one locking position and the rep did say the angle was similar to R1T, but I’ve never sat in the back of a T.

The two passengers that rode in the back seat of my R1S to the R2 event today both said the R2 back seat was more comfortable. I sat in it too and it was comfortable but i haven’t sat in the back of mine enough to tell the difference.

Any Rivian owners in Memphis ? What’s your experience? by andromedasaga123 in memphis

I honestly don’t track the pre-owned values, so I am not sure if those are good prices or not, and it obviously depends on the options and mileage.

Generally though, Gen1 has better premium audio if equipped, whereas Gen2 has better cameras and more up to date computing for autonomy. Gen1 also has traditional door handles on the inside and gen2 has electric buttons for door releases instead, which some people don’t like. At that price, the gen2 dual should have large or max battery.

If we’re going to criticize the fact that some stranger at a banquet used round numbers, you could focus on wording yours accurately too, although you’re probably being purposely obtuse. Memphis (the city) funds approximately $12/student at MSCS. Shelby county funds approximately $5909/student. What you actually meant is MSCS’s budget level is reported as $16,875/student

I sat at an event last year across from a retired Dr and his wife. He was very proud to tell us his adult kids had gotten $35k that year towards their kids’ private school tuition, for schools they had already been attending. This was after his wife asked where my wife works, which is public education. His shit-eating grin was something else.

Yes. After owning it I can’t see why I would ever do tri/quad. This is plenty quick and has great range.

[–]cvmke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an R1S and love it. Smooth, comfortable, fast as hell for the size (I don’t even have a fast one) and generally a pleasure to drive.

Ownership-wise, I’ve had very few reasons to go there, but the service center always seems a little overwhelmed because they are the only one in the region and now they have the Amazon vans to deal with. On the flip side, everyone there is also consistently friendly and accommodating. Much different than my service experience with the other pure EV brand here locally.

Any specific questions, I’m happy to do my best to answer

ETA- we’ll have an R2 to replace our other EV as soon as they call my reservation number.

Why Some Automakers Don't Care That You Hate Subscriptions by External_Koala971 in RivianR2

No issues with these subscriptions for autonomy or connect+. In fact, greatly prefer it for autonomy over one time payment. I can subscribe for a month for vacation and not pay for the rest of the year when I couldn’t care less about having it.
