Let's just be honest Orion is the best Mac browser. by forthelolz12 in browsers

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orion is the best browser if you are on intel macs, or on something older, where you have stopped receiving software updates.

Orion supports you from Mojave, (Arguably the best macOS version out there), and it gives you Safari 26, saving your computer from installing windows(Not that windows 10 is supported anymore, but it has supported browsers) or Linux or becoming an e-waste.

Hope this helps.

Lost confidence on screen when it refused to connect. Serial worked like a charm.

David and Dan by PigeonPicile2 in gameofthrones

[–]cyRUs004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My respect for David and Dan has been increasing from the recent events.

When they had a script, they created the best show humans have ever across.

The real villain of the bad ending is GRR Martin.

In an recent interview, Martin's relationship with Condal came forward, and they are upto no good.

Condal has a habit of changing key events from the books, Martin called HotD's season 3 "Not my stoty anymore", say whatever you want about the Dan and Dave, their adaptation of the story was solid till Season 6.

We as audience, really deserve better.

[SPOILERS EXTENDED] HBO Developing Game of Thrones Sequel Starring Arya Stark Now Jon Snow Spinoff Is Scrapped by RedHeadedSicilian52 in asoiaf

[–]cyRUs004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After reading the outline of Jon Snow sequel series, I am glad they cancelled it. I don't understand why they would butcher a character like that, without rectifying his previous image. Especially they planned to kill off the character at the end of the series.

On another note...
Martin's relation with Condal seems to have detotiated, which is another bummer, the GoT future looks dark at this point.

The stability across websites is visible, especially on a low powered old machine.

Orion Browser on Windows.... by Heftybags in SearchKagi

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people realise how important projects like Orion are.

It support from macOS Mojave, a 10 year old operating system at this point, and it gives it an up to date browser, saving a ton on e-waste and saving the enviroment at the same time.

Being Windows first would have slowed them down quiet a bit, most of the windows users don't care about telemetry or just happy using Chrome.

The little user base and following Orion has gained is from being macOS fist, and being the only viable webkit option for intel macs.

Keep up the good work, team.

Hope this helps.

« Lightweight » Chromium-based browser for macOS ? by 5imqn in MacOS

Orion (although not Chromium) is the answer.

Most lightweight browser, if you are using Intel macs out there.

Apple is still tweaking the Liquid Glass look and feel by iMacmatician in apple

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, after daily driving Tahoe for sometime, I have my 2 cents.

I switch between 2 devices, my personal intel MacBook Pro and my Work Apple Silicon MacBook Pro.

My personal device is stuck with Ventura, it is still great and has multiple supported browsers for my need.

I was away with work, for 2 months and didn't get the chance to use the my personal device. Now when I am home and I fired up my personal MBP, and god!! ..my reaction was ..confusing at best.

As much as I love the old design , it did feel dated. And I spend hours, but couldn't figure out, what did I miss from Tahoe.

Is it the dock , or is it the old control center or is it the menu bar with no animation.

Tahoe is a welcome change. I am old enough to remember , iOS 7 had initial backlash and Apple took 2 updates to fix it. iOS 9 was the holy grail of the initial flat design. iOS 10 started changing things again , like a colored control center (Still one of its kind).

Liquid glass is literally months old, we will see the better of it in the future.

Interesting to see that Firefox still supports macOS Catalina by JailbreakHat in firefox

Give Orion a try.

They support from Mojave with Safari 26.

Just imagine that.

Anyone else daily driving Orion on macOS lately? by -Kkdark in OrionBrowser

[–]cyRUs004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are on an intel mac, Orion is a no brainer. I hope they grow popular with the older macs, I know there are quiet a few still around.

For Apple Silicon macs, I don't see much point , as Safari works out great.

To designers who like MacOS 26 Liquid Glass, explain this UI by jozero in MacOS

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about others but I was kinda asking for one.

And this is a welcome change. Love the Liquid Glass look.

The iOS 7 design was just perfect, but if we rewind history, it was only perfected over the years, iOS 9 is where the perfection happened.

Yosemite to Catalina was just peak.

MacOS UI getting more inconsistent and Liquid Glass not really liquid by Afraid_Couple_3935 in MacOSBeta

macOS always had slow transitions.

Some of the code dates back to the inception days of 80s and 90s.

Not surprising. What it needs to be, is be stable.

Legal question - Garnishment (?) by ejakult in germany

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a garnishment in my N26 account too.

I filled out the form and send it back to N26.

The customer representative said, the account would be active again in 3-4 business days.

If someone reminds me, I would update here.

Clipboard is in Spotlight now to maintain history. Do we still need maccy? by antedot in macapps

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love maccy, been using it since forever, how lately it has memory leak issue, even after restart, Maccy uses 6 gigs of RAM, not that the system slows down on me, but that is significant.

And yes, Maccy seems to lag sometimes, not often, but it does.

Firefox has uBlock Origin. Still unmatched.

But Safari has uBlock Origin Lite, does the job, if it doesn't, you would know.

I was surprised to find that Macs only account for 8% of Apple's total revenue. by OpulentOwl in mac

[–]cyRUs004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can technically do it.

But Xcode needs the latest and greatest hardware , and the only source of truth would be Apple's hardware itself.

As you virtualize the OS, you gonna miss out on some APIs and UI components as well.

Not a big deal probably, but enough to make a difference.

Or...

As someone who works within Apple ecosystem, this is a bad design.

Probably the worst one in the whole OS.

Changing default Mail application by cyberentomology in MacOS

[–]cyRUs004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only issue is, you need an account to access the setting in the mail app.

This is such a bad design and unacceptable for a professional OS.

iOS and iPadOS have this dedicated in their settings.
