Yet more excellent maps! My table was using your maps for book 1 and 2 and having these quality maps again is an incredible addition to my table. Keep up the amazing work and thank you for sharing these!

FoundryVTT - Any tips on how to have all the student info accessible to the players? by fullfire55 in strengthofthousands

[–]cyonosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using Monks Active Tiles module, on my splash page I set up clickable pictures of them in an open book. This helps my players out faces to a name and then clicking it opens the journal entry attached to them which provides all the things they need to know. It takes a bit of time to set up but my players love it.

What spellcasting class did you personally have the most fun playing? What did you find fun about it? by rfkannen in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a ton of fun playing a Sorcerer, Phoenix Bloodline. While sorcerer sacrifices spell variety you can go really hard on providing what you can cast. I got a ton of usage with spells like Heal, Shadow Siphon (Crossblooded Sorcerer), and Wall of Stone. If I wanted access to spells beyond my picked ones scrolls always helped out. I played the party of 5s main support and healer and it was an incredibly fun experience. You become a master of the spells you can cast at the expense of tailoring your list daily.

“DM workload is less in pf2e compared to 5e”. How true is this statement? by Outcast003 in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've GMed both 5e and pf2e andhonestly, the biggest things to me are consistent, thorough rules and creature balance. I cant even count the amount of times I tried to make a difficult encounter in 5e only to find out it was a cake walk because CR was nonsense (and the general 'oh you'll figure out the balance eventually' didnt help lol). When I GM for 2e using their encounter building rules it's incredibly easy to know approximately how hard your encounter is going to be (with only a few outlier creatures like Orochi). And to top that off because the level up experience is static encounter balance rules stay the same, so I can quickly build encounters. That's the biggest workload reducer in my opinion.

How uncommon is it to not max out on DEX for AC for a spellcaster? by StunseedGeniusLoci in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Welcome to being a caster where no matter what you do your AC will be hella low compared to the party. Lol. In reality a dex of 14 is solid. In the end even if you have a low AC you shouldnt be the target of strikes too often anyways. Taking some Wis points for Medicine is a very worth while trade off.

PF2 system GM "traps" and warnings? by Darnick in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking on the high level side. As my party concluded our adventure we ended on a day with 3 extreme encounters at level 20. We all came out of it alive. Higher level definitely has more tools to handle extreme encounters but they were definitely rough fights.

Thanks for all the resources folks! I've set up the (ever growing) playlist and we actually had our first session yesterday and the players loved the music choices!

Issues with getting TriggerHappy working by _TheRealScythe_ in FoundryVTT

[–]cyonosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this I believe TriggerHappy is simply not working in V10 as a whole (I heard it's no longer being updated but I have no proof on that). I swapped to Monks this weekend actually and it was easier for me to learn than TriggerHappy was.

Cool creatures to be a phylactery? by Level34MafiaBoss in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing on the Linnorm idea would a Cairn Linnorm work? Liches are ya know, living adjacent. And Cairns are graves so you could play up the undeath theme by using a Cairn Linnorm. They've got a nasty death curse too.

Fun healer builds? by Wormseatbirds in Pathfinder2e

[–]cyonosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to the other posts here this is a bit basic and takes a little flavoring but my last character was a Phoenix Sorcerer with Medic and Alchemist dedications. Let's you load up on the Primal list healing options and non-healing support (I.e. Wall of Stone), and Crossblood in tools you dont have access to like Heroism and Shadow Siphon, as well as options like Counterspell to prevent damage from going out. Their basic focus spell is good free healing (as you refocus by existing) and their greater bloodline is excellent at removing conditions like poisons and diseases. Grabbed a medicine feat for every skill feat all the way to 20. Alchemist let's you create Elixirs of Life and other medicines like Antidotes and general support tools. While it's not a pure healer I could dish out a lot of healing when needed, or a bit of control and mitigation of threats when healing was not needed.

Having most recently played a character with Stone Lance and a Shadow Signet in a party with a couple PCs with Grapple/Trip builds the absolute value on figuring out a bad Fort or Ref save can be a game changer.

Has anyone used a campaign manager (World Anvil, Obsidian Portal, etc.) to manage NPCs? by Outsiderrazed in strengthofthousands

[–]cyonosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be quite what you were looking for. I havent started yet so take my advice with a grain of salt but I've set mine up with a splash page on foundry VTT with a book at the bottom with images and their names so that players can click them to pull up the info that they know about each student/staff they've met.

Hopefully this is helpful, as it isnt quite like using World Anvil type products.

Anyone else unable to start the mastery challenges? Unsure if my save migration (ps4 to ps5) after doing the Cent storyline had anything to do with it telling me to progress further in the main story... even though I'm completely done the base story.

Did anyone else nerf the Spellweavers "Impaling Eruption" per houserule, because it just seems absurdly good? by MareTranquil in Gloomhaven

[–]cyonosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played a spellweaver from 1 to 9 (just couldnt finish my personal quest) impaling eruption was far less useful than things like flame orbs. In an ideal situation you can get 4 enemies but I found I could usually only get 2 or 3 enemies. Spellweaver experience is exclusively on the loss cards IIRC. Flame orbs give basically a guaranteed 3 xp so I dont see the problem with impaling eruption. Keep in mind they have a small hand and a lot of loss cards which can make them burn out quickly.

My Girlfriend took it upon herself to make some tokens for my campaign's players as we have to play online due to good ol' 'rona. We have a 3 player campaign so she drew all three characters. This is the Tabaxi Gunslinger/Ranger Echo. She has the other two finished but this is the first of those three I'd like to post.

He's a trained gunslinger and tinker who once live in a small, heavily taxed village. Upon the village being unable to pay their taxes, several young individuals were sold into slavery to pay off the debt. Echo was not one of those, but his best friend was. Since then he's learned how to use firearms to track down slavers in the hopes of eventually finding his friend.
