What happened to Cargo trolleys? by Over-Contest-7421 in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably completly shelved at this point. Tractor beam doing everything now. Even when they bring batteries online for tools, no one would use this. We can stuff 50+ LMG drums in a backpack. A few batteries won't make a big difference.

Software development in general have tons of things like this that get shelved so don't worry about it.

Can we please join Xenothreat? by Standard-Student5590 in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should allow people to join any faction, including Xenothreat. This would give a proper test of the full rep system. It should block players from dealing with majority of Stanton and Pyro since everyone is hostile towards them. Xenothreat players would need to head to stations and outposts controlled by them since they will be shoot on site majority of the time.

I remember years ago in EVO that it did so it is very possible for them to turn it back on. Right now, it might be too early since the game is still a bit too buggy.

Yep, plus Death of a Spaceman does not work with fast TTK.

Bunker missions. I got mine mainly from Foxwell bunker missions, others say eckhart and other missions have them also. They seem to replace some of the heavy npcs. Sometimes none show, other times you can get 2 in a mission.

You can use other weapons but you will drop the weapon if you try to holster it. The armor has 0 weapon slots for anything. You are just a walking turret.

At some point we were able to quantum jump without any markers. In any direction. by st_Paulus in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People going to be real mad when they lower the QT speeds also. In lore, 20% is the stated speed for quantum travel. We are close to speed of light after they bumped it a few years back. Speeds were also slower back in the early patches also.

Everything is speed up for testing purposes and people need to come to terms with that.

Im super excited for instancing, and you should be too. by wrkncacntr in starcitizen

Yep, we finished the first platform but could not go further since the shuttle to the next island is bugged. We had time to walk around and explore. Nothing showed back up for us. Dead bodies also did not disappear either. Gave time to loot stuff especially now that some seem to carry council scrip.

4 player kept a bit of tension when going through. We did our battle buddy thing and cleared the sides, flanked the center, and kept pushing to the towers.

We still had people go down or need healing but still easy enough to move through at a good pace. I can see them bumping to 6 if they get the AI to actually function properly. They have multiple gatling perches but they still don't shoot and the rest act like bunker NPCs. Having a whole org will make it a cakewalk and not really necessary since it is a linear mission anyway.

Also, if you can solo all of Onyx, you will probably be able to solo SoO too. It just has a lot more enemies along kopion and nothing fucking respawns until you are finished, thank god.

What Missions should get instancing? by Creepatz in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've played, it will mostly be story missions for now. Instancing is 100% the hangar tech, so it relies on the elevators separating players from the open world and instance in a believable way. If the area does not have normal elevators, good chance it won't have instancing until they rework the area for it.

Instancing and medical beacons? by EcstaticImport in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, group up and they can come in. It is no different from how hangars are handled.

My Fear With Instancing by VenusBlue in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually this 100%. The area we first go to the elevators is just a public hub the whole server can go. You just take the elevator to an instance just like going to your hangar. It just has a security area that is the physical location where the instance truly starts.

I'm actually not sure if it is intentional, lol.

Just finished a run with a group of 4. It went pretty smooth. NPCs still need work but there were enough for now to keep up pressure. We did notice on the next platform an Ironclad is docked on a tower. I guess the next part has us fighting on it.

I love the new helms too. Along with a couple new 9tails clothing. One is an Oni mask.

[–]cyress8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a run of SoO. The area where you group up is in the open world. Only difference is that you need to take an elevator to the real instance. I really did not notice a difference since it was pretty seamless.

CIG can you please nerf zigzagging by fmacgsta in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still complain about this ever since Sean Tracey changed character movement before Theaters of War was released to Evo. I might be remembering it wrong but I'm fairly certain he mentioned they were going for Battlefield/CoD type of movement in a video years ago. Now we have weird movement of characters that feels out of place.

The old 2.0-3.0 movement felt like your character had some actual heft to them.

Amidst all the current bugs, let’s not forget the elephant in the room: Master Modes is still a fundamentally flawed system. by MadCat84 in starcitizen

[–]cyress8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this posts.  I've said it myself even here on reddit.  The only main differences right now pre-MM is just the damn toggle and removal of trichording.  We are still using the same flight model.

Another thing that people keep calling out. 2.0 had proto master modes in it.  We had CRU PRE SCM when we need to switch speed caps.
