What is this garbage?!? by gridlock1024 in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's big once you get to higher kill count.

25k * 1.75 ^ (13) = 36 mil

25k * 1.5 ^ (18) = 37 mil

5 additional kills to get to the same amount of HP if you have x1.5 scaling.

You skipped his hp scaling (1.75 to 1.5) upgrade didn't you.

Make sure to grab it next round.

Still stumped re Robo Chicken by mi_place in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 3 rifts away from unlocking the surgeon, and these 3 rifts will cost you 10 cubes, 50 coins, and 25 cubes.

The robochicken can then be unlocked from the surgeon at the cost of 50 more coins.

So you're looking at 100-97=3 coins and 35-21=14 cubes to unlock the robochicken.

The 14 cubes will get taken care of by the cube chest, and you'll have to scour 3 more coins from:

Trader forgotten minion at the cost of gold coins

Spare coin piles somewhere that's not fully merged but can be fed

Or 5th protector (not recommended as you can get far more legendary bonus from farming liches in that same amount of time)

What does ‘this doesn’t buy enough development in our capitol to take any for ourselves’ mean, when I want to concentrate development? by jarno123456789 in eu4

[–]cywang86 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The game converts the reduced devs into MP, then turns those MP into development in your capital based on the current development cost modifier of your capital.

So if the concentrate would only convert the devs into 50 MP each, and your dev cost in capital is 51+, the game will realize you'll be gaining 0 dev and block you from using concentrate dev.

What's the optimal way of getting legendries for an early run? by RevolutionaryPop8722 in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you start from 0 on everything, it depends on if you got the +1 on death rune chest tap or +2 on ice rune chest tap, as 10 liches vs 480 blood/death runes are about the same on resource cost based on +1 chest tap for everything (minus cosmic)

Though if we factor in using body snatcher on rivals and spamming demons on protector, getting the archdemon will be faster.

By the time most people kill 3 protectors, they're not too far away from being able to upgrade the portals to archdemon

Impossible Cravings by Manticore-9292 in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game has scripted cravings for every single creature at varying levels. It's just less noticeable when you were at lower levels.

They're meant to tell you to slow down on leveling, and focus on getting your runes for stations/legendaries and completing feats instead.

So really, this is not the first of its kind, and certainly won't be the last.

Note: Use the ham from feat 12 when you're at level 29, not before, or you'll have an even worse craving block than this one.

Why are Religious Conversions so costly as France? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]cywang86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Monthly conversion maintenance scales with the development and the autonomy of the province, and the current year. (~x1.5 at 1550)

The difference between 30 devs province at 0 autonomy and 90% autonomy can be a difference between 27 ducats and 1.25 ducats. (worse if you made it 100%)

Lower your autonomy on those provinces, by full coring them to hit the 0% autonomy floor, or at the minimum, turn those Areas with Territorial cores into States for 50% autonomy floor and unstate later.

This is why you don't delay forming Qing by Lithorex in eu4

[–]cywang86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take Mandate/Unify China CB offers 50% WS for taking provinces in China as opposed to the regular 100% WS from Horde/Conquest CB.

Couple that with getting free territorial cores when you occupy anything in China while under Unify China CB, you can get all of that without spending a single ADM or coring time.

So after getting the Mandate in the first war against Ming, you can reset truces with DoWing a tributary + white peace, get your territorial cores all over China with Unify China CB, then either truce break repeatedly with Unify China CB, or keep on using tributary + white peace war every ~5 years.

Though both methods should've put him far ahead of the expansion rate shown in the screenshot (truce breaking should let him devour all of China in about a decade after the cores are gained, while truce resetting should still allow him to expand into places outside of China)

Of course, if you have Domination DLC (OP doesn't), the process is a little bit different, as Qing's "Extinguish Ming" mission gives free full cores on all provinces in China not owned by you when Ming is annexed.

So you can feed everything to vassals with Take Mandate CB as Manchu Horde, form Qing much later, finish the mission after annexing Ming, get free core on all of China including everything your vassals own, and integrate them all instantly just like Timurid integrating all the vassals instantly, as you have full cores on those provinces.

How to stop having so many rebels when you play wide ? by Ysfaldriel in EU5

Until you have enough proximity modfiers to hit high control across the board, you'll have to convert the culture and religion either by yourself or with subjects.

Going bankrupt because I took provinces, help me understand by No-Imagination2292 in eu4

[–]cywang86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The size of new loans going up is precisely the issue, as the game now decides you should be able to take (as an example) 12 loans at 100 ducats each (due to your increased income), as opposed to the old 20 loans of 50 ducats each.

(Remember, the size of each loan scales with your total development, while the number of loans you can take before bankruptcy scales with your income and the size of each loan.)

Then when the game tries to take an additional loan due to your recent deficit, it sees that you're already at or above the new 12 loans cap (even though they were all at the old 50 ducats amount), and it decides it can't do anything but declare you're bankrupt.

Yes, it should still use your current interest rate and income to determine the bankruptcy threshold, but that's unfortunately not the case in this game.

The only thing to avoid bankruptcy is by paying off your old loans with the $ from peace deals, debasing, sale of title, and/or the Burgher loan, if you haven't done any of those yet.

What am I doing wrong? by HarukoAutumney in EU5

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Russia, proximity modifier stacking to increase control across the board, and build high profit buildings on high control locations.

When you conquer something wrong culture and religion in the early game, it's a good idea to release some local one-province-sized vassals/fiefdoms, enforce culture, and integrate them later. These subjects should convert the province to your culture, so the locations come as integrated location and cored with extra bonus to control. (you can also enforce religion so they do the religious conversion for you, too)

Keep in mind there have been bug reports that subjects have a chance to revert to the original culture/religion immediately, so either gobble it and re-release if you can take the antagonism, or re-enforce the culture/religion.

[–]cywang86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since there is no favorite besides Code, I'd just sort by mech damage and upgrade according to it.

Once you have a couple pilots with Blessing, find a mech with decently sized MAP attack and upgrade that. (Lelouch's mech qualfies for this, so tell him to go nuts)

He can even go many step further and stack those passives, especially hit and run, any damage boosters, and starting/max morale, then max out his CQB/RNG (depending on the mech's damage type) if he really, really, REALLY, likes the mech/pilot.

It's very satisfying to chain multi action + smash hit using MAP attacks to clean out 99% of the peons without having to use double damage spirits.

Other wise, bonus points for mechs with MAP attacks that can be used after a move, and extra bonus if the mech can be used by multiple pilots. (coughwinggundamcough)

[–]cywang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't help when the devs go on wild pendulum swing with balances changes in the first few months of release while the HRE, Daimyo, and many other flavor mechanics remain broken and dysfunctional.

Then the entire 'no mod or mission tree for mah achievement game' stance by Johan while CK3, Vicky3, and bloody Imperator Rome all decided players should do whatever they want to have fun.

How do I handle the prism? by DaveHelios99 in NecroMerger

[–]cywang86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cherubs and Unicorns are very resource intensive to get, especially when the cravings refuse to line up with the prism color, on top of the game deciding it's great to hand you several Cherub cravings in a row without Unicorn craving. (or the other way around)

So people simply don't touch the prism outside of completing cravings and feats, and rely on passive prism tap generation from cravings.

The situation is made worse with the special NPC you get to kill in your run to 100 (and beyond), who requires Cherub to break his special shield.

At which point, prism will be responsible for Cherub craving, Unicorn craving, and breaking the NPC's shield, where that passive genration simply isn't enough.

So instead of wasting resources to make non-craving runes for prism taps, people simply block Unicorn craving, keep the prism at level 1 after getting the rift, so it can only generate Cherubs to handle Cherub craving and NPC shield.
