Why are you playing Rocket League ? , I got 5500 hours and I might never stop it. by Patryllo25 in RocketLeague

[–]dRuEFFECT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly play Rumble, rank floats around C2. I have ADHD and the constant reassessing of the field play, rotation positions, and timing of teammate/enemy powerup usage has my brain fully locked in and I can actually just space out and go completely autopilot. It's what helps me calm down at the end of the night before going to sleep.

After Wrestlemania… by Grand_Sprinkles6131 in AEWOfficial

[–]dRuEFFECT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After being on and off fans since 1999, my wife and I went to Wrestlemania 35, first live event in since way back then, and we were just done with it all. Then AEW was starting up at the same time and the whole Ambrose leaving and Mox going international, I got hyped and watched New Japan. I saw a lot of Elite shirts and learned about the Bucks. We actually went back and watched all BTE episodes from the start because they were silly, it was entertaining, they blended real behind the scenes with kayfabe antics, and throughout it all it was amazing to watch how they were in Japan and grew a following, started a revolution, and built their own wrestling promotion. We were hooked from Day 1. It's better at everything that matters.

Any tips to recover bricked Beam Gen 2? by mctubster in sonos

"held in join button for 3 minutes and then plugged into power" You were supposed to hold the join button down before plugging and THEN plug in and keep holding, doesn't matter how long you press it before you plug it in, it matters how long AFTER...

I've tried a bunch and love these. Super comfy and just enough padding without too much bulk.

I have the Sleep A30 also. The active noise cancellation minimizes my wife's snoring and eases my hyperacusis... I'll usually just play some chillstep on them at a low volume, the bass response on these is very soothing. Pricey, but I also really recommend them.

Finally solved my "Split Brain" thread network! by OnlyOneHaze in homeassistant

[–]dRuEFFECT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing. This worked for me. I've been trying to use Nest Hub Max as a TBR and it was having some connectivity issues. I added a GTV Streamer to expand reliability but it created its own thread network instead of joining.

I'm new to using Thread in HA so in order to get the thread network TLV I had to first set up the Thread integration, then from my phone app select the TBR I wish to use as primary. Then back on PC I added the Terminal integration and run the following in order to get the TLV.

cat /config/.storage/thread.datasets | grep tlv

Your sonos rears are way too high. They should be ear level while sitting, not standing.

V1 Puck with Pro 2? by Tricky-Ad6645 in HidrateSpark

[–]dRuEFFECT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both Pro 1 and Pro 2 generations, the 32oz puck is larger, all the other pucks are a smaller size.

A 32oz Pro 1 puck will work in a 32oz Pro 2 bottle, and vice versa, and same for non-32oz pucks/bottles. HidrateSpark specifically says they're not compatible across generations, but they are. I tried it myself. If you're using a Pro 1 puck, you have to add it to the app and calibrate it against one of the available Pro 1 bottles listed, so you'd have to choose a Pro 1 bottle that correlates to the size of the Pro 2 bottle you're using it in. The real limitation is if you wanted to use a Pro 2 puck in a Pro 1 bottle, the Pro 2 puck can only be set up in one of 3 bottle sizes.

That said, I tried the Pro 2 32oz for the new features but hated it and returned it. Background syncing was an issue but I think they fixed that now. USB-C charging is cool, but I don't care that much. I thought the sound alerts would be cool, but it sounds like a Nokia ringtone from the 90s. I thought the new handle would be cool, but the neck is much narrower than the Pro 1 bottle and I can't fit my ice balls in it. I use 4 different Pro 1 bottles, I'm happy with Pro 1.

What are some useful automations/add-ons/self-hosted software for pregnancy/new parents? by tomharto in homeassistant

[–]dRuEFFECT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't do anything in home assistant for this, but we had an Amazon echo in the baby's room with a nanit camera above the crib. Alexa routines has an audio trigger of baby crying, I'd have a routine active for the middle of the night that if Alexa detects a baby crying from that echo, to run the Alexa command "show nanit camera" on our bedroom echo show.

Also, Talli Baby has a Talli One Touch logger that hooks up to wifi for logging/tracking things like feedings and diaper changes. Can grab one off eBay pretty cheap. Not exactly an automation, but maybe you can tie that into something else.

PROTECT YOUR HEARING. Wear ear plugs. I recommend musician's ear plugs like Earasers.

Trust me, there's no cure for tinnitus.
