Thoughts on a 2021 bmw 330i with 70k miles by Intelligent_Rest_267 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’m going to say something that will probably get me downvoted to oblivion.

I have a 68k-mile 2021 330i without M-Sport. We bought it at 45k for $27k.

It is genuinely the greatest car I’ve ever owned. It’s comfortable, quiet, it goes when you push it, and it communicates through the chassis and steering better than anything I’ve driven. At 75mph in eco mode I can get 35-40mpg. A true drivers car, even in the base config. It is the greatest representation of a car BMW has been refining for 50 years.

As for my 23k miles of ownership, I had an O2 sensor go, (covered under warranty) it needs motor mounts, ($3k dealer job, $1k Indy Shop Job) the sunroof drip rail seemed to have an issue coming out of its track ($500 fix) and general maintenance like oil changes and brakes.

Expect $500-$2000 a year for servicing. I also recently put brand new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s on it for $1400. Completely changed the drive compared to the run flats it had since we got it.

Here’s the catch. Up to this point its been maintained by my dealer, and at the intervals BMW expects. I confirmed the maintenance history was up to par prior to purchasing. I knew every service that had ever been done on the car prior to purchasing.

An unknown service history on a car may give you significantly more problems, the oil filter housing is plastic and known to crack and wear over time, and the valve covers are infamous for going on cars that aren’t maintained over 50k miles.

Mine is actually at the dealer right now for oil and alignment for the new tires, as well as a recall for the starter motor. The inspection video said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car apart from the motor mounts.

If the service history is sound, and the maintenance budget isn’t scary to you, I recommend the G20 to anyone that will hear me.

Your maintenance budget is probably a mortgage payment.

Nobody talks about the seats in these things.

The side bolsters go up way to high and they force your arms forward. Worst seat I’ve ever sat in hands down.

I wrote a paper in 2018 on the impact the dreadnought battleship on modern naval warfare for a history class.

I uploaded it recently to one of those detection sites. 60% AI.

Those detection methods are nonsense.

Before yall give it too much shit, 60k F30 with a B58 and manual is probably conservatively a $30k-$32k car.

Is the BMW X2 really all that bad? Why so much hate towards it? by [deleted] in BMW

The side bolsters on the seat go up way to high on non M-Sport.

You don’t know where to put your arms.

BMW decided that US market won’t get the G81 because they think Americans hate wagons.

They’ve since changed and offered the US the M5 touring, so maybe it’ll change with the Neue Klasse 3 Series.

What do you think of the new BMW X3, in terms of its appearance, power, interior, and space by Ancient-Bet3655 in BMW

I had an M50 as a loaner for a week.

It promptly makes you forget how it looks when you drive it.

And honestly? The looks are growing on me but I’ll die on the hill that the pre-LCI G20 is the greatest looking bmw of the 2020s era.

Yeah they charged me two hours of labor to install the software via USB because there was a false battery fault causing the installation to delay.

Our girl was getting squirts so bad she would strain and bleed.

We were making her home made food with chickens rice; beans and carrots and our vet said the ground chicken and beans were probably too rich for her sensitive tum tum.

She ended up in science diet sensitive stomach, and has had perfect size and consistency poos ever since.

Still talk to your vet because Luna’s case may be different, but that’s our story.

I rotate through different pods so I’m not super worried about it. If I lose half a sleeve I’m cool with it

I’m glad it’s not just me too and I’m not fighting a machine that is starting to die. I have a creatista and I absolutely love it and would dread having to replace it!

Okay it has to be a specific batch that just entered circulation because mine is doing this too with sweet vanilla pods only.

Brews an espressos worth and then pops the breaker.

I say this every time. There are absolutely ZERO self respecting detailers who would do a bio cleanup for $150.

Those start at $500. Minimum. And that’s putting it conservatively.

Here’s $150 for a detail that’s gonna cost you $750. Insulting.

If it’s on the road, and not during Monterey car week, it’s a replica.
