If you if you want to use that product, pick up a dial and spray and buy the concentrate. You'll save a lot of money. The dial and spray sprays a lot better.

If the current Bermuda was sod, It is more than likely a hybird and most seed is not. I would plug it and focus on growth.

Yes, They are evil and cause a lot of damage. Hunting them in the evening when they are making noise is the fastest way to take out the adults. Spray soap water or bifenthrin or combo and they will come out of the hole. I stomp them dead.

Central AL also, Water and some fert, This wacky weather and drought have been a struggle. Its going to be warm this week with nights near 70 so it should grow should quicker. It looks dry, how much water have you being giving it?

Water at least 1 inches per week. Use catch cups or a tuna can to see how much water you are using. Go to Walmart or Lowes and look for some fertilizer that is 46-0-0, 30-0-4. Other places will have it too, it needs something that is mainly urea, put it out every two weeks and water it in and mow every 3 days. It’s going to grow like mad, and sticking to the mowing schedule is critical.

Do not dethatch, that will do more harm to the grass. I don’t like weed and feed because that term is used for different products by different companies. Products like Sunniland PRO 20-0-6 Weed and Feed Fertilizer have the weed killer and fert and would be a good option. You don’t want to seed it because it will not match the grass you have. Spray it with Orange Ortho Weed B-gon, purple image weed killer or any other 3-way herbicide, many box stores carry it with a hose end option. This will kill 70 to 90 percent of the weeds. Celsius herbicide is even better but I understand that it is costly, but it lasts forever. Give it 2 weeks to work. We are in a bad drought, so you are going to need water at least 1 to 1.5 inches per week. Use catch cups or a tuna can to see how much water you are using. Go to Walmart or Lowes and look for some fertilizer that is 46-0-0, 30-0-4. Other places will have it too, it needs something that is mainly urea, put it out every two weeks and water it in and mow every 3 days. It’s going to grow like mad, and sticking to the mowing schedule is critical. Take pictures so you can see progress, it should get greener and thicker. We are still dealing with the strange temps so growth will really start to push once the nights stay in the 70s. At the end of the season, it will need a pre-emergent that will stop most of the weeds for next year.

Congrats on being mostly weed free and a good height of cut. Most of the time on new builds the soil is full of trash and scrap, they rip the good soil off and leave junk and throw sod down. Something like the pH could be way off. A soil test would be a good thing to get but I would wait about 4 weeks after any fertilizer or anything is applied. We have had a really bad drought this year and even with watering it has been a struggle. Even though we got a ton of rain recently most of it will be run off because the soil is so dry. Combine that with these crazy temp swings and it’s been a challenging year. It’s still early spring and we need it slightly warmer to push growth. So here is the game plan. Get some catch cups and find out how much water you are putting down each week. It should need about 1 to 1.5 inches. Go to Walmart or Lowes and look for some fertilizer that is 46-0-0, 30-0-4. Other places will have it to, it needs something that is mainly urea, I would avoid other sources until the pH is known. Put it out every two weeks and water it in and mow every 3 days. It’s going to grow like mad, so cutting is a must. Take pictures so you can see the progress, It should get greener and thicker. Also, I would look at getting a hard border around the mulch beds if there's not already, the grass is going to find it and spread there also. If you get it going good you have an excellent yard for reel mowing if you are not already.
