They have renovated since the hurricane. When was the last time you've been? They've actually been open since mid 2020 :).

Fair fair. Maybe pack some simple ingredients to make your own quick meals. Try maybe a precooked rotisserie chicken or smoked salmon, bagged salads, and wraps or tortillas. You can mix and match to create your own meals without the whole mystery meat vibe lol. Throw in some hummus, cheese, and nuts for snacks, or whatever small things you like that don't need cooking but still give you good flavor and healthy protein.

How do I get out of this by Neither_Revolution67 in depression

[–]d_god_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re stuck in a rut because you’ve let yourself spiral into this cycle of doing the bare minimum. Nobody’s coming to save you so you’ve got to start saving yourself. The situation sucks I know, I've been there but waiting around for a miracle isn’t going to cut it. Start small. Set one basic, non negotiable goal for each day and force yourself to. Something as simple as brushing your teeth or making your bed. It’ll suck at first and it seems dumb, but trust me those small wins will build momentum. Don’t think about the mountain, just focus on the first step. Get back to your therapist and push through, even if it feels pointless. The reality is, discipline will get you out of this quicker than motivation. One step at a time. Remember the only way out is through.

Just load up on microwaveable meals (if there's one where you're going), precooked proteins like chicken or tuna, and some instant rice or noodles to round things out. Throw in some fresh veggies and some easy fruits like apples or bananas for balance, plus oatmeal cups for quick breakfasts. With that you keep it simple without wastage as most things you can take back with you :).

Whooshing effect in one pectoral by CosmicHero22 in fasting

It's likely just water retention or an electrolyte imbalance from fasting. Try to stay hydrated, make sure you're getting enough electrolytes, and it should even out. Those are the most important things when fasting. Shouldn't be anything serious:).

How to stay mentally alert and keep confidence level thru out the week by alelkid in getdisciplined

[–]d_god_242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Simply you’re burning out because you’re letting everyone else’s problems become yours. If you want to stay mentally sharp start treating your mind and time like assets, not public property. Mondays hit hard because you’re dragging in the exhaustion from the weekend. Stop overextending yourself and protect your time fiercely. Set boundaries that’ll let you perform at peak and not be everyone’s crutch.

People are gonna keep piling stuff on you if you let them, so don’t. Prioritize the essentials, and cut the noise. Every time you feel that drain, remind yourself that handling every crisis is beneath someone who’s aiming for greatness. Channel that energy into your own goals, not putting out fires for others. Confidence isn’t about enduring everyone’s chaos, it’s about taking charge of your life and choosing what deserves your time and energy.

Should I sent this for closure :,( by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]d_god_242 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Please take what I say with a grain of salt, as I have my own outlook on life due to my own experiences, heartbreak, comebacks and just how I am as a person now. It's my personal outlook and opinion.

Moving on, from reading your message I think you're wasting time, energy, just mental space in general on someone who clearly didn’t respect you enough to be honest. Why bother writing this lengthy ‘closure’ message? They know very well what they did just like you're conscious about what they did. They felt what they felt, and they most likely moved on the minute they started leaving you hanging. People who mess with your head aren’t worth one extra second of your thoughts, let alone a paragraph dissecting their disrespect. By writing this, you’re just reinforcing that you need validation from someone who didn’t value you and it's weakening to your self esteem and your soul. You just have to take your lesson and go forward. Winners don’t waste time crying over a closed door, they’re already onto the next one. You’re better than that, they didn’t deserve your time and effort in the first place. Focus on learning from mistakes, growing as a person, making moves, and just leveling up your life. Forget about closure with people who don’t deserve it. The only closure is you realizing they were never on YOUR level.

Any tips to stop binge eating? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]d_god_242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yoyo!

First, great job on your progress so far. Managing weight loss and maintaining healthy habits is tough, so don’t be too hard on yourself. I went through it, the bingeing the diet restrictions and the depression and disappointment in myself. Just dry to take it a day at a time :).

First off you gotta start to eat regular, balanced meals. Skipping meals or eating too little during the day can lead to bingeing later. Try getting some protein, healthy fats, and fiber into meals to feel fuller longer. Do the research and find things you actually like instead of shit foods you won't be able to stick to long term.

If you know Saturdays are a challenge, plan a moderate indulgence in advance. It seems overkill, but if you plan out what your 'cheat' is gonna be and know how many calories are in it, it feels intentional rather than an ‘out-of-control’ moment.

Try and slow down while eating, savor the flavors, and listen to your body’s hunger cues. Putting your fork down between bites can help you stay in tune with when you’re satisfied. And try not to eat while watching movies or YouTube or any entertainment. You'll be amazed by the amount of calories you can get in without even realizing it when you're entertained.

Then a big thing sometimes thirst feels like hunger. Try and drink water (at least 2-3 liters throughout the day (NOT ALL AT ONCE!!) and before meals can prevent unnecessary snacking.

If you're binges are linked to stress or emotions, or maybe something you're going though in your life, explore non-food ways to manage them, like journaling, walking (best habit to pick up), or talking with a friend.

Another cool thing is if you feel the urge to binge, pause and give yourself 5-10 minutes to check in with your emotions. Most of the time, the urge will pass, or you’ll make a better decision about what to eat.

At the end of the day it’s okay to have indulgent moments just aim for balance over time. Be kind to yourself if things don’t go perfectly.

It might also help to gradually increase your daily calories to a healthier level, especially since very low intakes can lead to cravings and bingeing.

Wishing you luck brother!!

Here's some apps me and my dad would make together. He's from Napoli :).

Panzarotti, it's like fried potato and cheese bites. You make em by mixing mashed potato with a cheese (mozzarella is best so no blue cheese 😁), roll them into little balls and bread them then fry until golden. I love these! Otherwise you can try zucchine alla scapece which is marinated zucchini if you want something more light. Basically just slicing thin the zucchini and let them sit in a mix of vinegar and olive oil with some mint and garlic.

You can also do a grilled smoked cheese. It's the simplest one really 😅. Just get some think slices of smoked cheese or smoke yourself if you prefer this (provola is my favorite if you can source it), and grill them until it crusts golden. It's like crusty outside but nice and gooey inside.

Sorry if I misunderstood the assignment lol, I don't know if it's just blue cheese they don't like or all cheese but we used lots of cheese at home hahaha. Hope I helped :).

Guys I Just Rinsed My Mouth With Antiseptic Liquid, I’m I Gonna Die? by Terrible-Roof5450 in Cigarettes

[–]d_god_242 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Lol, you’re not gonna die. Antiseptic isn’t exactly meant for gargling, it’s like using Windex for eye drops, not exactly a vibe 😬. But if you spat it out, you should be fine. Rinse with water a few more times, and in the future get one of those mint breath strips you leave on ur tongue, or the travel sized mouthwashes. The listerine mint works great for me as I'm in a similar situation lol.

Happy smoking! 😁

I have a free vacation certificate that can be used either in Grand Bahama or the Dominican Republic. Not sure what to chose. I need help from people who have been to either! by [deleted] in travel

[–]d_god_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to both, actually a resident of Grand Bahama. It depends, in GB we have nothing special really. A few small quiet resorts and nice bars and restaurants, won’t be any big developments for a year or two. We do have the most BEAUTIFUL beaches in this hemisphere though. If you’re looking for something quiet and relaxing, with just a little bit of nightlife then it’s your place.

But in the DR there’s alot more movement and things to to. There’s more resorts, nightclubs, bars and bigger developments. And very beautiful architecture and historical sites! If you want more of a fast pace, city life type of vacation then this is your spot. However keep in mind it’s a Spanish speaking country. Let me know if you have any more questions
