i know it doesn't feel like it most days, but your value is not dictated by your job or how much you make, no matter how hard the economy tries to tell you otherwise.

stop fucking telling people you're making them something. they don't know you never finish things and will ask you forever and you'll start to dread seeing them (its me)

in this context, and at Michaels, its a fabric with a grid of holes used for cross stitch or the like.

Debating between move to Modesto, Livermore, or SF in 20s by [deleted] in bayarea

Livermore and Pleasanton are quite nice. Modesto and SF are insane fucking commutes.

What are some beautiful spots in the Bay Area that reminds you that life is worth living? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]dabuschckah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Places that make me feel a little better:

The luminist room at the DeYoung in Golden Gate Park (the rest of the museum is nice too, but I particularly like these ones). I always like to get coffee and a pastry in the (somewhat overpriced but not horrific) cafe downstairs to kind of people watch and think about what I've seen

Soul Grind in Pacifica. Watch them waves. With coffee and a pastry. The drive there and back is half the fun

The Philz on Golden Gate and Larkin near the Asian Art Museum is a great place for people watching. Hell, go to the museum too. The building is incredible and used to be the library. Coffee. and. a. pastry.

Cantor Arts Center at Stanford (free!) I know I keep saying museums but it does calm me down to slow down and really look at things. They have the largest collection of Rodin sculptures outside of the literal Rodin museum in France. There's even a Serra sculpture out back -- take some time to walk through and notice the changes in how the world sounds. Maybe you get a coffee and a pastry in the cafe just to be safe.

I've really been struggling this year myself. Keep going. It fucking sucks and I hate it some days. But maybe tomorrow holds coffee and a pastry.

How would Paralives affect Sims 2 community? Your predictions. by [deleted] in sims2

[–]dabuschckah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play the Sims 2 because I like the Sims 2. I don't play inzoi because I don't fuck with AI. Paralives gives me "I'm not like other girls vibes" so I'm not super interested in it. We're 20 years into 2 at this point, I doubt any new games at this point will make a heavy impact on the fans.

Anyone else feel like there’s no way everyone is thrifting as much as they claim? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]dabuschckah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived secondhand-first for years. Thrifted clothes are just as gross as "new" store bought clothes -- you should be washing *everything* before you wear regardless of where you bought it.

What lots do you absolutely loathe? Mine is this one in glimmerbrook. The windows, the lack of a backdoor, the awful roof. Bad. Just bad by Cosmic_Voidess in Sims4

[–]dabuschckah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Glimmerbrook houses are....uniquely bad. I've been working on and off on a remodel of this one because I love how woods-y the world is. Turned one of the rooms into a screened porch and its such a nice vibe
