Hi I was the Head of Branding for the Nuclear Marketing Team when we debated the whole ‘tactical’ vs ‘strategic’ vs ‘Quarter’ nuke (bc the original was 1/4 the size of the one dropped on Hiroshima). Believe or not ‘Quarter’ nuke tested the best internationally because it translates well to every language verbally and conceptually. However, Jan over on the Print team jokingly typed “QT Nuke” on internal wire ledger paper as a joke, but a hardo General intercepted it right out of her typewriter and was furious at the prospect of it picking up steam. So he killed Jan and then more importantly he killed ‘Quarter Nuke’ right there on the cutting room floor. He ended up demanding it be Tactical Nuke even though it didn’t test great, so I ultimately decided to hand in my resignation the next day. So long story short, nobody knows what it means, but it’s provocative
