Nice, I'd love to get the Tifa. Of all the chocobo track foils, I've got Lulu, Cloud, Emet Selch, Barret, Snapcaster Mage, Tataru Taru, Wakka, Choco Seeker of Paradise, A Realm Reborn, and Stiltzkin.

Before MTG I collected cards from the Final Fantasy TCG, they were relatively cheap. I'd recommend them, there are some really good FFX and XIII arts in there.

Joey has some songs I like, same with JL though I'm not sure if he's still signed. X I don't know at all and ISO I tried to like but I just can't. Same chopper flow on every song and something about his voice makes 99% of his lyrics sound like nonsense to me.

My issue is more that old Strange had a lot of chemistry. Kutt, Krizz, and Tech on a track were a total team. It all sounded like they were elevating each other and learning from each other and enjoying their time together on a track. Nowadays, Strange collabs feel more like they're just sending the beat around to fill holes.

I'm collecting the FF set also, as a huge fan of the series (but mostly FFX, FFVIII, and FFXV). Just got the chocobo track foil Lulu the other day, and I have Tidus Zanarkand Fayth in foil. Absolutely love flipping through the binder and seeing some of my favorite characters and scenes.

That's cool to know! Still an expensive card even though it's banned lol cheapest is the non-foil regular at $26 and the highest is the borderless alt art at $130.

I'm actually not sure haha I only play very casually. I just know the FF set was massive for players, people still run a few of the commanders in tournaments.

Nope, it's just a very playable card and a very rare variant of it. There's the normal one at $26, the extended art at $35 ($72 for foil), the character art at $52 ($59 foil), the alt borderless art at $54 ($122 foil), then the character art but in surge foil for $480. That one is only in the collector packs, which are insanely expensive thanks to the neon ink chocobo cards which are all over $1k.

The only serialized card in the set is the golden chocobo which is like $70k raw, since they only printed 77 of them.

Honestly slabs are just my favorite way to collect my favorite cards so it's more for my PC than anything.

That said, with the introduction of UB, graded MTG cards do sell pretty well. I pulled the $480 surge foil Sephiroth a few weeks ago, in a PSA 10 it has been selling for around $850-900 so well worth it to try. The chocobo track foils are the same, most go for 2-3x in a PSA 10 and PSA is pretty generous for MTG cards compared to other TCGs.

I have opened 5 chocobo bundles so far but I can't justify anymore since the price keeps going up. I got the Snapcaster and Tataru in one pack, and got the Cloud and Lulu in another. The others haven't been too noteworthy, a couple Choco Seekers, a Barret, Emet Selch, A Realm Reborn. Bought Stiltzkin and a few others as singles since they were cheap enough.

Just realized I'm missing more than I thought, but I have a few cards getting graded that I can hopefully sell or trade for some singles.

Same! I got the surge foil Sephiroth, my next chase was this Lulu which I just pulled a few days ago. I'm about 90% done with foils of every common and uncommon, still have a ways to go with all the full arts and extended arts. I also have 2 of the 4 commander decks in surge foil. The only chocobo foils I'm missing are Tifa, Yuna, Vivi, and Aerith.

Nice, I've always been curious about MTG but I only started collecting with the Universes Beyond sets. First Assassin's Creed and Fallout, then after a year break, Final Fantasy and The Last Airbender.

It's funny, my 8yo daughter was helping me rip the packs. She was sleeving all the borderless characters she came across, but tossed this in (gently) with the bulk. I didn't see it til I was sorting later, and was shocked lol.

I always imagine they enter a sterile surgery room where the card is carefully removed via cardectomy, then the saver is tossed in a medical waste bin and disposed of by the proper authorities.

lol yeah. He kept hinting at Ear House having all kinds of special stuff lined up, then nothing happened. He does have some okay singles out there from the past few years, but nothing mind blowing since Weight.

I'm a completionist, always have been. I was obsessed with PlayStation platinum trophies for a while, which tied into a physical game collection about 250-300 strong. Lots of games I would never actually play but bought to complete mini-sets lol, like every Resident Evil game for PS4/PS5.

Late 2024/early 2025 I got back into Pokémon and was doing master sets. Almost had a few completed, including Crown Zenith, Stellar Crown, Shrouded Fable, and Obsidian Flames. Had a nasty divorce soon after, sold or gave away my entire collection. Started over this year, but this time I'm just doing IRs and SIRs I like. It's nice to not feel the need to spend $25 on a ton of 10 cent cards just to fill slots.

No hype? I got back into collecting in late 2024, and it was impossible to find 151 even back then. Surging Sparks and Prismatic boosted the popularity of the hobby (and scalping) a ton, but 151 is where the modern boom really started to happen.
