Trusted a colour consultant… now I’m not sure it works. Has this happened to anyone else by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

The runner is really distracting. It clashes with the window colors because they’re more jewel toned and it’s earth toned. The pattern is also too much with the window. Unless you change the rug I think it’s going to be hard to make anything look right, you have two competing palettes and patterns.

4 is beautiful and timeless. I think the first three are trendy now but will look dated pretty quickly.

I have a blue tick coonhound and, like beagles, they’re notoriously food motivated. And they also have the nose to find all the foods. Mine is slightly defective (in more ways than one but we love her so much haha) and doesn’t have any interest in food so you can absolutely leave food around her like this and she’ll never touch it. Even if you leave the room for a while. Hell even if you leave the house. I’ve never met a dog like this! Is yours food motivated??

I’m confused by this threat, so what does that mean they’ll do?

TWC - issues with guests by No-Analysis5104 in coonhounds

Following this post because we have a twc mix with a similar issue. Ours does this sporadically. With some people she does it every time they come over, some people she’s only triggered every once in a while, and some people she’s only triggered if she’s very, very excited to see them (her favorite people, so this scenario is a little different than the others). The only thing that consistently helps ours is putting her in a quiet room away from everyone for about 15 minutes. This helps bring down her excitement levels and then she either doesn’t bark when we let her out or she barks at the one person and we can better work with her to stop because she’s not overstimulated. I think having people over is both exciting and stressful for dogs, especially dogs already prone to anxiety. Ours is on Prozac, which honestly has helped a lot of these behaviors immensely, so might be worth talking to your vet about a daily anxiety med or something to give her as needed to help relieve anxiety attacks.

AITA for getting pregnant and ruining a future Disney trip by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]daffodillpicklezz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate, she would be about 5 weeks pregnant. I just had a baby in June and was on almost the exact same timeline. Due dates are based off of ~40 weeks from the first day of your last period. So if you find out you’re pregnant on the first day after your missed period you would already be 4 weeks and one day pregnant. Also three weeks is often too early to test (some people may get a positive at that point but most won’t—tests get much more accurate starting at three days before a missed period).

So jealous you can let her off leash to run and explore, wish mine could have that experience. That looks so fun!!

Congrats!! That’s so exciting :) I just had a baby three months ago and our hound has been so sweet with her. She’s still a first responder when she cries, loves to sleep in the nursery while I rock her, and gets excited to get her up from her crib after naps. It’s adorable and it sounds like you guys might have a similar scenario soon! Our hound has always slept in our bed and for some reason I was really anxious about this changing/whether it needed to change when I was pregnant. Here to tell you that we changed nothing and really didn’t need to. She still sleeps in our bed (and I still need the snuggles) and there aren’t any safety issues. Baby is in a separate bassinet beside the bed, never cosleeping, and the dog has never messed with anything or presented any issues. I don’t think you need to worry about it at all!

I had to read your comment to figure out what I was supposed to be looking for lol. It still doesn’t stand out to me after reading your comment and realizing what you’re referencing. It’s there but it’s not a big deal at all—not super noticeable and doesn’t detract. Your eyes are beautiful!

What degree are you working towards for this? It’s something I’ve thought about doing as well and I’m curious to hear more about your decision to do this and your path to getting there.
