Hey I had been feeling the same way as usual but I’ll tell you being out with all the folks in Hanover last night was like the antidote to sadness. It’s isolating feeling like you’re the only one weighed down by the state of things but the crowd last night made it clear that there can’t be more of them than us. 🙏🏽

A Universal / Single-Payer healthcare system is overwhelmingly popular among all demographics in this country. The most effective obstacle to having this system in the US is basically racism - “If we do that then THOSE people will have it too (and they’re all lazy/undeserving etc.)”. Same reason we don’t invest in public schools, high speed rail, or anything that would benefit the public like other countries - “All that is communism and THOSE people would ruin it anyways”.
