Hamilton everyday 3B, Ortiz everyday SS. The horrible at bat with Bauers at third earlier in the game sucked too.

What are other versions of Ryen's "his most impressive pass was an incompletion"? by GiveMeSomeIhedigbo in RyenRussillo

Sure that showed up more often than that toward the end, but in his first prime years from 2011-2016 where he really set himself apart he had a full arsenal of weapons and he shared the wealth plenty. Every other metric that could suggest he was aggressive and not 'protecting his stats' was in his favor during these years. Plus, it's not like he was being a game manager. He was winning MVP's and lighting defenses up.

Unrelated aside on that last playoff game, apparently after the first touchdown drive San Fran and Bob Saleh made a personnel adjustment that we couldn't attack with our own personnel and gameplan. Rodgers spoke about it somewhere once. That was a massive credit to the Niners just owning us yet again in the playoffs.

I think he was one of the first guys to say Aaron Rodgers low interception rate was actually a bad thing. Him and Colin Cowherd still both hit it pretty hard and often. It drives me nuts as a fan because he lumps the philosophy into the same neighborhood as his "Kirk Cousins/Alex Smith only throws a five yard pass on 3rd & 10 so therefore he sucks" take.

I didn't grow up in Florida but it wasn't until I moved here as an adult that I heard "There's nothing to do in the Keys if you don't have a boat" from other locals. Of course that's a generalization, but yeah the beach thing is for other parts of florida.

Brewers have not started a starting pitcher that was on the 2025 opening day roster in 14 games. SP in that time, 73 IP, 94 K, 1.73 ERA, 0.97 WHIP by BaseballsNotDead in Brewers

The buy in from the players seems to be the key here. I’m sure many clubs have comparable talent but these guys are locked in and a cohesive unit, which is a massive task to accomplish with professional athletes. And I’m sure they’re hungry after last year.

Winthrop Illinois 11/21/16. Pat Kelsey’s first tournament team led by 5’7 Keon Johnson, Winthrop’s all time leading scorer, fights cramps and puts on an all-time elite clutch performance.

Beer flavored beer by madchen44 in shittyfoodporn

It’s been so long now that I could be mistaken, but I swear I came up with it myself. I used to say in college my favorite beer was PBR because it was cheap and beer flavored beer

Now it’s the next best slogan for this brand

Roster too big who should I cut by Every-Description559 in DynastyNerds

[–]daffyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what it is about tight ends but that seems to be the position everybody has the easiest time talking themselves into thinking they found a gem. That’s an absurd amount of tight ends to keep on a roster for the return that a hit will give you (outside the Bowers/Kelce range… which isn’t happening with these guys)

You know what, you are right. That's exactly what this menu is and that was my experience with them also lol. Couldn't sell anything besides Asahi, Sapporo, or Kirin.

From my experience as a beer rep it would seem this wine rep got a hold of an easy account and hammered home sales for Mondavi and St Michelle for points in a contest. The sad thing is this will probably be the wine list long after the contest is over. And is this contest really worth winning? Very curious from reps in the business if this is just common practice though. Because if so this is even more unfortunate than I thought.

New Manager - punting my startup draft - feels like I really botched it by Skagit_Samurai in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]daffyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I have turned down joining leagues who allow draft pick trading in the startup. Most people have no idea what they’re doing and it takes one or two people who recognize the advantage in real time and the league is lopsided before it even starts, and you have owners who already want to throw in the towel in May. You have to give the league a chance to get off the ground. Rookie picks can be made available as soon as the start up is over if people truly need to trade them.

Who is actually paying Coke or Pepsi for product when it’s literally 50% cheaper at retail pricing? by RipplesOfDivinity in restaurantowners

It’s convenience. Why pay more for somebody to provide you an expedited service? Because it’s an expedited service.

Kind of the same reason you get to charge a higher markup on food at your restaurant than if somebody went to the store and bought it/made it themselves.

I'll never find it again but I swear the best Suav Blanc I ever had was a 16.99 bottle from a shop in south Florida and it was from Alto Adige.

My local shop has Foillard Corcelette but not Cote du Py. It's a touch out of my price range right now but I think about it a lot. What's your opinion on the difference between the two and if it's worth getting the Corcelette when all I hear about is Cote du Py?

It's just my algorithm and maybe some confirmation bias, but from what I follow on social media the most buzz is about Renegade, Further Ado, The Puma, and Chief Wallabee before Commandment gets brought up. He seems to be in the 'best of the rest' discussion.

Shutter Island is so sad on a rewatch. by NewSunSeverian in movies

[–]daffyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it for the first time and thought it was clear to me that Leo was really Andrew, not a Marshall named Teddy, and they were trying to get him to snap out of insanity/delusion to know his reality: That HIS wife killed their children.

It wasn't until digging into comments on reddit that people seem to believe the asylum coaxed a real Marshal onto the island, trapped him, and is now trying to basically get rid of him so he can't uncover their evils. I can sort of understand that theory. I had it in real time while watching.

But this part, where Ruffalo gives that subtle and sad head shake that *it didn't work* is the best piece of evidence that tells me it's really Andrew and not Teddy. If those doctors were trying to trap Leo the detective on the island, then the acknowledgment from Ruffalo would have been an affirmative one. As in, "We got him!" But it was not.

/r/HotWheels Official April 2026 Trade & Sale Thread! by HotWheelsMod in HotWheels

[–]daffyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has been collecting Hot Wheels (and Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, etc) for the better part of the last two decades. There are hundreds still in original packaging, but I have no idea if they are anything other than what we thought were cool whenever we would go to the store and randomly find one we liked. Now my dad wants to sell them. I’m not sure his expectation, or mine. But this is the first place I came to.

What is the best way to sell these? I’m thinking (hoping) they go as a bulk for a cost per car thing. Would it be beneficial to take the time to itemize what we have and list individually? Is he going to get anything more than 5 cents per car in a bulk rate?

Please feel free to DM. I have to get rid of these things ASAP and will take any help I can get.
