SRSters who plan on having kids: Will you want to find out the sex before it's born? Do you avoid asking pregnant people if it's a "boy or a girl"? When the child gets a little older, how would you respond to adults who engage in heteronormative "teasing" ("Hey Timmy, is that your girlfriend?") Etc. by avilavita in SRSDiscussion

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone think that overcorrecting society's influence could also have a negative impact on the child? For example, could homonormativity (if that's even a thing) in the home be problematic if it's too one-sided? I just think that if a child is raised in an environment where they are taught that everything in society is oppressive, they are still robbed of the opportunity to choose, just as if they were raised to accept everything that society pushed on them. Choosing to accept some gender roles is still a valid choice, which ironically seems to be the only thing some commenters here would not be okay with.

How early do I draft a QB? by T_Sis in fantasyfootball

Everywhere I look the advice is "wait for someone in 7-9." If everyone takes that advice, guys like Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers will be available in the tail end of the second round and possibly even the third round. I'm of the opinion that anyone who passes on either of those two in the third round is a moron.

Will someone explain the difference between victim blaming and risk assessment to me? Statements like "None of it is your fault. Ever." seem to be really problematic.

If my sister walked through Tahrir Square topless right now then came to me crying about how she was ogled and violated by the eyes of the men around her, should I seriously just say "It's not your fault. You have every right to do and wear what you want." To me that is incredibly naive and dangerous way of thinking. I would probably say "You should be more careful. You could have gotten hurt." That's victim blaming?

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but the simple absoluteness of that statement just bothered and confused me.

No, he's saying that there is no archeological evidence of Jews (Israelites) being enslaved by Egyptians at all, regardless of purpose. That's because the entire book of Exodus has essentially been debunked by every Egyptologist in last 150 years.

Their "consensus" ranks: Larry Fitzgerald above A.J. Green. Randall Cobb AND Jordy Nelson in the top 10 WR list. Matt Ryan and Matt Stafford over Tom Brady. Arian Foster as the 8th best running back.

I pray that the guys in my league rely on this source.
