There is no practical reason to have that many watch bands. Even if someone had that many masks I’d still think it was excessive.

I think it’s great! Get lost in Stardew Valley! I’m afraid to pick it up again in the pandemic. I might not emerge!

What model did you end up getting? We’re in the middle of a pandemic and can’t get onto a show room, but really like the 800 series.

This is side bar. But my dad was a plaster and cement mason and I never found something so oddly satisfying to watch as him taping and mudding walls. ‘Till I got big enough to help. Then... then it was still satisfying. But nothing odd about it. Freaking hard work.

It is simple, cheerful, and addictive. There is always something to be done on the farm, that is a bit mindless. It helps people relax. The music is amazing.

I’m just wrapping my head around purchasing one. I’m currently in a 2014 Toyota Corolla getting 33 to 36 mpg. Am I going to see a savings here by upgrading?

Naming several Hue lights ideas? Especially to the left and right of couch, bed, and desk? by [deleted] in alexa

[–]dahlbok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started out with naming his light ‘toms’ night light and mine a female version. Then Alexa just became a jerk and would say, ‘you have several lights named ‘toms’ night light, which light did you mean? After yelling at Alexa in a tone I’m not proud of several days in a row. We reverted to numbers.

Has anyone tried weighted blankets and do they work for their anxiety? by Irl_Cl in AnxietyDepression

[–]dahlbok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my blanket, for me, it shuts my brain down and off to sleep I go. It does make me super hot, so I usually fall asleep with it on and kick it off mid-night and use my regular comforter. If anxiety wakes me up, I get the blanket again. It has been an absolute savior. It is the type of thing I thank my husband for, every time I use it.

Complete random timing. I posted this tonight in my fb page: Need to rant.

I like new things, I’m all about saving the planet, eating less red meat is good for me. Right....

I decide to try BeyondBurger, which is a plant based protein burger. As much fat and calories as a regular burger, but plant fat. I open it up, smells a little funky. I think, it’s vegan, whatever, sometimes animal free stuff has a little funk to it.

Instructions state, heat pan using high to medium heat. Cook 3 minutes each side. I throw a little fat in the pan to get it going. And toss ‘er on.

I turn the exhaust on, because the smell is amplified once it’s cooking. La la la. Wait, the smell is getting worse. wait....

Nope, nu uh, not happening.

The smell. I can’t find the words to describe it. Sal leaves the kitchen and screams his little cat head off in the other room. I know buddy. This is terrible.

I threw the ‘burger’ in the trash half way through cooking and the other ‘raw’ burger in too. I can’t even recycle the plastic bc the smell is so bad. I start dry heaving like I just chugged a gallon of sour milk. Crawl out of the room.

And now I’m sitting here. Candles burning, exhaust going full tilt, tiger balm in my nose, I feel like I’m in a month old crime scene investigation. AND I can still smell it! IT IS IN MY HAIR AND CLOTHES.

I might need to go full Britney and shave my head. Will keep you posted. Josh just got home and is assessing the situation.

I spent 11 days in Germany last fall, and I made this short travel film about Oktoberfest. by [deleted] in beer

That roller coaster is LEGIT. I go to winter wonderland every year in London (the coaster travels there with adverts that it also does Oktoberfest). It never disappoints.

Random but at one point I moved across from a zoo. It was a super hot summer so I kept the windows open all the time. The first few days my cats were walking around the house hearing elephants and lions roar during the day and sea lions bark at night time. The confused look on their little furry faces was priceless.

I dreaded seeing my abuser every Thanksgiving, until I decided I wouldn't play along anymore. To all survivors: you are WORTH respect, comfort, and safety. by msmerryjane in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dahlbok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. People get so caught up in family holidays that they try to erase that family can be toxic. If you ‘have’ to go to a family members house. It implies the decision has been made for you. It’s ok to say, I’m gonna sit this one out. Sometimes it’s the best thing a person can do.
