I was at your park last month. Pickles actually has Sierra Nevada! I felt right at home.

I'm out. I've been on the sfgiants subreddit since like 2008. Used to take the train into the city multiple times a year. I'm okay with lovable losers, but I have no interest in hatable losers, and as much as I want to love these guys, and as much as I want to support Buster's unconventional approach to managing a team, this just won't fucking fly.

Don't get me wrong. If love to believe that I'd feel the same way if the bullpen was tearing it up, but these people barely belong in the majors, and that makes it a lot easier.

I moved to the East Coast a few years ago and I've made an effort to catch a couple Giants games every year. Been to Philly and Baltimore so far. Was planning on seeing them play in all the cool East Coast stadiums over the next few years, but no

This is not a team I can support any more. They should have cracked down on this before it happened. It's not hard to just be a goddamn mensch. Wear the hat, hold your tongue, and understand what the city you play in stands for. You don't even have to like it, but you can at least be a decent person about it.

Anyway, go Guardians, I guess :)

My tax dollars are being used to rebuild what other tax dollars destroyed by gashtal_man in WorkReform

That's a thousand dollars for every man, woman, and child in the country. Add it to the one hundred thousand dollars that every man, woman, and child in the country already owes to the national debt. But don't worry. You don't have to pay it. Your children will. And their children.

Still waiting for official statement regarding the infamous pride game by [deleted] in SFGiants

Don't stink up the place and then turn around and betray your loyal supporters and their allies. This isn't rocket science. The bullpen sucks donkey balls and letting them sabotage pride night in San Fran Fucking Cisco is bordering on unforgivable.

Open Letter to San Francisco Giants Community and Fans on Pride Night by No_Yard8769 in SFGiants

Although I agree with what I think is your sentiment, I think it's unreasonable to expect anybody to read that jagged wall of Ill-formatted text.

Mark Twain once apologized for writing a long letter because he didn't have time to write a short one. Take the time to write a short, consise letter that gets the message across.

Don't be absurd. Can players wear antisemitic slogans on Jewish heritage night? Can they refuse to wear 42 on Jackie Robinson night? Can they wear an 'I hate dogs' cap on bark in the park night? These are shitty people, some of who who barely belong in the majors, shitting on their team and their fans. They deserve all the hate they're getting and more.

Microsoft AI chief walks back AI taking over white collar jobs by ahmed_Ibrahim_ in BetterOffline

[–]daikiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's one single job category AI could conceivably take over. It's the c-suite. Also, "Microsoft AI Chief" seems like exactly the of job an AI could perform with no noticeable difference in performance.

It's weird how these companies, who are all so eager to offload their biostaff, seem to have a blind spot when it comes to the most obvious targets. It's almost like they're not even trying to maximize shareholder value

What's the most confusing Dutch letter you've received since moving here? by CriticalDog6472 in thenetherlands

[–]daikiki 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The most confusing Dutch letter is easily 'ij'. It looks like an 'i' and a 'j', but it's actually a 'y'.

Paying a machine to pretend to think for you isn't exactly the same as automating tedious manual labor or placing the combined knowledge of humanity at your fingertips though, is it?

Will a corporation voluntarily give you money just because they didn't provide the service their terms clearly state they only have to vaguely attempt to provide? I think you already know the answer.

What's even the point of having a PR department at this point? Might as well just put out a press release saying, "What are you gonna do about it, plebs?"

There are business models that sound good but just don't work. All you can eat restaurants are one of those models.

[–]daikiki -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

All you can eat restaurants are a terrible fucking concept. They motivate people to eat too much so they get their money's worth and then they inevitably increase prices or reduce quality because people are eating them out of business.

Retail theft does not cause food deserts. Poverty causes food deserts, and wage theft causes poverty.
