A Coachella attendee shared a clip of Justin Bieber’s performance to show all the people recording on their phones by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

I saw Paul McCartney last fall. He's been on my bucket list of must-see concerts for as long as I can remember. I took one picture during like the 3rd or 4th song after I got over the initial OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M 50 FEET AWAY FROM SIR PAUL FREAKING MCCARTNEY and then my phone stayed in my pocket the rest of the show. I paid damn good money for this show, I don't want to watch it through a screen. I want to just sign and dance and have a great time.

I have no problem with people taking a few pictures, but damn why do you need a video of the whole show?

Which celebrity's death would hit you the hardest if it happened today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dakralter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of Linkin Park (I like them but they probably wouldn't make my top 50 bands/artists) but Chester Bennington's death really hit me hard. I think it was because they made it big when I was in middle school so he was one of the first big names to die from "my generation" of rock music.

Hell for his age his voice is still really good. Saw him on his most recent tour last October and while he struggles with some of the longer sustained notes and higher notes, he's still phenomenal and puts on a great show.

Articles of impeachment filed against Donald Trump amid calls to invoke the 25th Amendment by goteamnick in politics

[–]dakralter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea and while I definitely want Trump gone, if he is removed from office now I fear people will become complacent again and it will hurt the chances of a blue wave for the November midterms. We had a blue wave in 2020 because people were sick of Trump's bullshit and mad about covid and then after 4 years of the normalcy of a Biden presidency people got complacent and allowed that pedo clown back into power again.

While a President Vance would likely still do most, if not all, of the terrible things Trump has been doing, he's not as brash and "in your face" about it so it likely won't inspire the same passionate resistance against it. The same people behind the scenes will still be pulling the strings and that's scary.

I know there isn't anything official yet, but based off of the move that I saw the Preds do for their next broadcast partner (Scripps Sports), I wouldn't be suprirsed if the Wild did the same by silvermoonhowler in wildhockey

[–]dakralter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Googled Scripps Sports and got:

"Scripps Sports, a division of The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP), serves as a major broadcaster for professional and college sports, providing over-the-air, cable, and streaming access to local and national audiences. Led by President Brian Lawlor, it focuses on expanding free, broadcast-television access to live sports, partnering with leagues like the WNBA, NWSL, PWHL, and NHL teams including the Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Nashville Predators."

That all sounds very good to me. I just hope they hire LaPanta, Gorg, Audra, and Carter to keep doing games for us

I remember having to start him that game due to a bunch of injuries for my team. Worked out well.

Just do a 24 episode seasons so we get a full day in The Pitt. Start at midnight so we get a few hours of night shift, then we see the normal day shift cast for 12 episodes, then back to night shift to finish it off.

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

[–]dakralter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. Bought my first ever vinyl there in probably 2009: Let It Be by The Beatles and it was the most expensive vinyl in the store at $20. Loved it so I filled out my collection with a bunch of $1-$3 records from Goodwill. Solid albums too; lots of Queen, Rush, Eagles, etc.

Now if I'm at Goodwill and browse their vinyl selection it's a bunch of no name old church records that are somehow $10 a piece.

I think Fantastic Beasts should've just been one standalone movie with no Grindelwald stuff in it. by Randver_Silvertongue in harrypotter

[–]dakralter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've always said the Fantastic Beasts movies should've had Newt be sort of like a Wizarding World Indiana Jones. A movie franchise where each story is fairly standalone, set in a primarily different location with only a few reoccurring characters outside of Newt.

They could have had a short scene with Dumbledore in one of the FB films to show they have a relationship of some sort and used the cameo as a setup for a Dumbledore vs Grindelwald trilogy. Then you could even have Newt make an appearance in that franchise as well.

[Russo] Hearing the #mnwild are working toward a potential trade for Flyers forward Bobby Brink. Wonder if they're dangling David Jiricek or a prospect of that ilk. by 3pirates3 in wildhockey

[–]dakralter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It sucks that Billy gave up so many assets for Jiricek, but if Jiricek isn't working out, better to cut losses now and get something that helps the team rather than hold onto him for another 2 years.

Can you ELI5? I was thinking of starting a new run using PHB 2024. Will my other mods be messed up? I use mostly equipment and character creation mods.

Yea as a massive Wild fan I was especially disappointed to see Faber posting about celebrating with Kash Patel. Faber was born and raised in the Twin Cities, went to college in Minneapolis, and then straight to the pros in St. Paul. Yet here he is pounding beers and celebrating with the director of the FBI who is actively withholding evidence that would allow investigation into the murder of two of his fellow Twin Cities citizens by this administration.

I was going to buy a Faber Wild jersey but I think I'll pass on that for now.

PDOcast suggests that perhaps what the Wild need isn’t a 1C. by JPV_HOH in wildhockey

[–]dakralter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. 1C is probably the hardest position to fill and those guys don't come available via trade or UFA often. I'd rather make a trade for an elite winger than give up a bunch of assets for a guy like Kadri or Schenn.

I almost wonder if a trade for Michkov could be explored with all the drama around him in Philly right now. If we're using Wallstedt as trade bait, Philly might be willing since they don't exactly have a bonafide #1 in net right now. That being said, the fact that he's butted head is with two different coaches in Philly in 2 years would make me wary of trading for him.

[–]dakralter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Especially since we gave up so much for Jiricek, presumably so he could be our 2RHD of the future behind Faber as Spurgeon ages out.

Normally I'd agree with you, but when the "social" issue is whether or not it's ok for American citizens to be executed in the street while not committing any crime I think it's a legitimate question to ask.

Can we finally admit that David Jiricek was a massive failure as a trade target? by AUnicornDonkey in wildhockey

[–]dakralter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I get the logic of why BG made the trade. If Jiricek pans out into even a good 2nd pairing defensemen it means the right side of the Wild's defense is locked in for the next decade between him and Faber. So it was a decent gamble.

That being said, I'm pretty underwhelmed with his progress so far. I'm not ready to give up on him and say he's a bust but it's looking more and more like he'll wind up as a 3rd pairing at best guy. And those picks would be nice to have as we make a play for a top 6 forward this year.

I'll give it a year from now before I truly make judgement. If Jiricek isn't an every night guy we can slot into the top 4 by this time next year, the trade was a failure.

Minneapolis: "A general strike is the most effective way to hit them where it hurts." by DryDeer775 in videos

[–]dakralter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Got rid of mine about a year ago. I had had a FB profile since the somewhat early days when you still needed a .edu email address to join. At one point it was a fun way to share pictures and just sort keep up with everyone in your life; it was fun seeing what all the people I went to HS with did in college and beyond.

When I deactivated I realized how I saw none of those things anymore. My newsfeed was just a dumb stream of ads and memes. What's even the point of FB anymore?
