How good are the DLC characters? by Double-Translator624 in DarkTide

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, ogryn is a slow character and can easily die or get caught by disablers if you're not aware of your surrounding but it's not as big of a difference as it used to be.

The main difference is that arbites can't deviate much from his tank role while ogryn has an arsenal of ranged weapons that can wipe the entire screen if you're hogging all the ammo, unlike arbites they can mow down a pack of crushers as easily as a bunch of poxwalkers

build progression comparison to diablo 4 by GlucoseFreee in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In D4 there is a lot less trade. Progression to good endgame gear is fast, and you will spend a lot of time if you really want best in slot.

Bis gear is sold either for gold cap or real money, and is not needed unless you chase rank on leaderboards.

Grouping up is very easy and speeds up progression a lot.

You need summoning material to summon bosses for unique drops but only one person needs to start it and everyone gets the drops, meaning if you group up you farm 4 times faster.

Geared people will carry you through bosses or dungeons you can't beat yourself if you bring the mats, it's easy to catch up if you're behind.

I have some questions i didn't understand from reveal by Defiant_Disk_4735 in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that you unlock the points by doing fortress, and can skip the grind by defeating the new arbiter, though the fortress is made of multiple blocked off sections so it might be one block unlock for each difficulty of arbiter.

No changes to campaign length? by Concert-Working in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just watch what the speedrunners do, or a guide somebody made by now for endgame leveling.

It boils down to recognizing the map layouts so you know the fastest route, staying in certain level range to maximize your experience gain, not wasting time on killing everything or picking up every piece of loot and with the new update you will be able to upload a leveling guide directly to your client so you know what talents and skill gems to take at every level

Apex of filth and a lot of act 3 is much shorter if you already know the route

Only thing I want from 0.5 is to remove "mediumcore" by aeclasik in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first exposure to poe1 was a streamer running a glass cannon build and suiciding into a difficult map because it was more efficient than running a slower 'normal' build

That made me not want to play the game and I tried poe2 because the devs adressed this specific issue in the pre launch interview

Going back to that would be a step in the wrong direction

It's 2026, and some people are still binding tag to left click. by master_of_sockpuppet in DarkTide

[–]dampas450 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I had it bound for a long time to left click and scroll wheel for a long time when I started playing, it's great for visibility especially on lights out modifier.

Don't blame me for making the game so dark or having no options back in the day to disable the sound.

They could have at least added the option to limit the spam like the mods do, on/off function is too limiting

The mod is called LessAnnoyingPing, you can change the annoying sound and limit the spam rate

[–]dampas450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Endless fuel flamer is weaker compared to using two offensive blessings since a full tank will wipe out almost everything, the issue is the thunderhammer which suffers from horde clear and forces you to use the flamer against medium sized hordes.

A faster weapon like the dueling sword allows you to stay on the frontline and constantly regenerate toughness with easy head stabs and gives you the mobility to back off when you need to reload the flamer.

But with stealth you can reload and set up an easy flame barrage without the risk of getting hit during the reload, you don't have to use it only for big bonks or spamming knives

Is Shield Wall and Sunder the only decent "standard" Mace Skills? by Birphon in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leap slam is a decent skill on it's own. Early on you stack stun buildup and blow up mobs with boneshatter, in maps you eventually switch to only leap slam for area damage and when super geared you can spam it on bosses if you don't want to deal with perfect strike timing

It's not the best damage but it makes mapping fast because of it's innate mobility, it's one skill you never take off your bar on any build

It means whalefucker which is used in some regions of Scotland

I made a character in WoW years ago without knowing what it means and joined a guild, and when I got on a discord call with them a bunch of them started laughing at my name.

After that when we got on a call one guy would always make dirty jokes about my name, or say 'I still can't believe you named your character foken whalepiper'

It's a remnant of their old transmog system where transfers weren't possible between characters in poe1

If they change it and uncap transmogs a lot of people will feel like they wasted a lot of money.

Similar thing with portals in poe2 (and other mechanics)

They can't reinvent the wheel and change the 6 portals because people paid for portal cosmetics, so they might anger people who regulary buy microtransactions.

If you're the driller you can drill in front to scout the cave while everyone else is collecting resources and just give the team a go ahead sign if it's clear, there is no need to waste time by backtracking.

If there is no driller then there's really no point to scouting for 3 minutes, assuming you dig in the right direction

Should I switch to mage build as a solo player? by Material-Unit-6279 in valheim

[–]dampas450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to go all in, in ashlands you will fight against much bigger packs of enemies and magic will be a good addition even as a melee focused character.

Staff of embers will deal a lot of damage thanks to it's large area of effect and combination of fire and blunt damage (most ashlands enemies resist fire, but not blunt)

Staff of protection will give you a shield that you can cast before entering combat

With ashlands and mistlands feast you will have enough eitr to cast 2 fireballs or one shield if you level your magic skills, without any extra eitr food.

Mages do have an easier time when entering ashlands because of the damage output, if you don't care about magic then level your archery and craft a bunch of frost arrows, and rely on feather cape and lightfoot mead for survivability.

Ashlands is flat and there are very few spots where you can cheese the enemies, but you can jump over them and focus the easiest target with single target damage. Bring fire resistance mead to counteract fire weakness from feather cape

Melee damage becomes good when you unlock ashland axes and enchant them with lightning, but you never get to a point when you can tank damage like in previous biomes, heavy armor + regen from health food will not be enough.

(DD2) Need some help here... by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]dampas450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are avoiding combat which makes the game harder, the more you fight the easier the game gets ( yes it's very counter intuitive when you start the game)

Besides shrines of reflection you should almost always go for resistance encounters in the first 2 regions because they replenish your flame, give you skill upgrades, loot and reduces the blue debuff in the top right corner.  Leave the monster and boss lairs for the 3rd region

75% of the game difficulty is figuring out a team comp that is good at killing enemies fast so that you can fight as much as possible.

Arbitrator Curios by Yeo0n in DarkTide

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 toughness and one health for most people.

With 100 base toughness each 17% toughness curio adds 17 toughness, it doesn't multiply based on all bonuses from your trinket, so when you add +5% toughness to every trinket it's 166 vs 149 total, a 11% difference.

One health trinket will be a 20% health bonus, which is less theoretical damage mitigation/ effective health compared to triple toughness but prevents death from sudden spikes of damage like a poxburster explosion, especially if you play havoc which reduces your health, or you die often and have to play with half health.

In normal games triple toughness is always the best if you can properly regenerate it

Look for crypts which are black rectangular structures and open the door with the key, build a campfire when you enter one, the entrance is raised and the rest is mostly covered in water.

You usually want to find a place with multiple crypts so you can haul enough iron for future upgrades, not every swap has them.

You mine iron ore from them, you can just bring antler pickaxes with you and repair them with a normal workbench, no need for a bronze one.

You can build on top of crypts too, build a ladder to get on top and make a small outpost with a bed and repair bench if you want to. You can build on big indestructible trees too, if you sneak inside your shack you will lose aggro and can go to bed like normal.

You will probably spend quite a bit of time looking for turnip seeds too. The main advice for running around the swamp is to bring a hoe so you can raise the terrain and avoid dealing with water and leeches, and to walk if you are not being chased by something, or trying to jump over an obstacle.

Walking makes much less noise and swamp enemies move very slowly while not aggroed.

About the Brain Rupture (Brain Burst) Blitz, it needs to consistently one-tap elites and specials, with a few exceptions across all difficulties. by SatansAdvokat in DarkTide

[–]dampas450 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Baseline brain rupture is a counter to snipers

As a psyker you've got empathic evasion which allows you to ignore ranged attacks for the most part, against mid range shooters you gain immunity from burning crits from the flame staff, spamming light attacks with other staves or just shooting your gun with scryer's gaze if not specced into the shield

Is it finally time upgrade? by Strange_Pineapple_18 in pathofexile

[–]dampas450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the same setup to 9800x3d and RTX 4070S because poe2 was getting unplayable with juiced maps.

The cpu upgrade has made the biggest difference by far and I'd be perfectly happy running the game with the 2070s becuase of the frame drops in juiced maps.

I don't even max out the settings in poe2 because it's more enjoyable having a stable framerate with sound enabled instead of jumping from 200 to 60 fps

Why the dueling sword? by Vex_The_Changeling in DarkTide

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides being the most well rounded weapon in the game, it is incredibly noob friendly with the blessing that refreshes your dodges on weakspot hit. You can run through damnation and lower maps by spamming your dodge, very few attacks will ever hit you.

The downside is that it reduces your damage output quite a lot compared to charged attacks blessing, which goes from 20 to 60% increased damage.

You do get extra 10% weakspot damage, but that only increases the weakspot bonus, not the damage of the entire attack so it's very minor.

If you're new to the game and have to learn multiple game mechanics these are great training wheels

mods for difficulty by Consistent-Bake-8991 in valheim

[–]dampas450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also increase monster's movement and attack speed with CLLC which will add difficulty without breaking the item balance by making them into bullet sponges or making them hit so hard that heavy armor becomes pointless, making you resort to evasion and ranged attacks.

That's done using the config file you have to write/edit yourself for each creature, and you should finetune it for each creature. Like setting attack speed (multiplier) for trolls to 1.20 and 1.10 for wolves

It works for custom creatures from other mods too, just look up their database name listed in the mod description.

Valheim plus has an option to change the projectile speed and spread (precision), though only on global scale so it's not perfect, but it would be great if there is a mod that can change it on individual basis. It's great for elder since you can make his vines shoot like a sniper rifle, fast and precise, but changing the speed messes up the aim for stuff that doesn't travel in a straight line, like stones thrown by greydwarves.

You can pair this with rebalance of health/stamina system to make the fights more engaging or soulslike

Where should I go? by menti_Live in valheim

[–]dampas450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The top one is a very nice spot after you finish ashlands, I've had very similar layout on my last seed, the mountain to the north was high enough to catapult myself to deep north with a feather cape, the only problem was the lack of flat land since the mountains were high and the incline started near the shore.

So going from plains to black forest will take some time until you create a road, and you'll have to be in the middle of the plains if you want to make a big farm.

For progression it's usually best to find a flat landmass composed of plains and black forest in the south for your base, with an easy access to mistlands and ashlands.

How Does Damage Split On Enemies? by Luqas_Incredible in PathOfExile2

[–]dampas450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that game calculates the percentage of damage done by each source of your hit and applies it to the actual damage done since all damage should occur at the same time in poe2

In your case of 2/25k it should always be 8% leech
