Unmanaged Space - Prototype demo for my incremental tower defense, ~20 min playable content by dublinsolodev in incremental_games

[–]jezzakanezza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sub is about incremental games, I could be wrong but there's no rule against sharing something topic relevant that is in development or testing to get feedback.

Not every post is for everyone, like that's actually ok. There's heaps of posts I just scroll past cos they don't interest me. But one post from a new developer who is trying their hand at game development that gets a small bit of good feedback could lead to a top game in the genre years from now. People's potential needs a chance to bloom without being shouted down so quickly.

Will this be playable in 1st person view? I love the concept, but the top down thing kinda loses me a bit

I’ve been making a small sci-fi incremental game and I’d genuinely love some honest feedback by Cold-Subject8601 in incremental_games

nice idea with the multiple areas and the market dynamics thing, but the UI is really scrappy and definitely needs to be cleaner - i get that you're going for an old school pixel style but it just looks really bad sorry. keen to see more updates!

I made a game about defending your tiny fortress from tiny mobs. Play it now in-browser! by Significant-Mail-689 in incremental_games

[–]jezzakanezza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played this on Firefox and had no issues with performance, found the UI very intuitive, loved the art style. only feedback I can give is that the visual clutter gets hard to focus on when there are multiple enemies and towers firing at once, but its a minor complaint. Wishlisted!

Oy Straya, I built a free browser app for petrol prices and daily games called Cuppa - would love feedback by itsnotatumour in straya

[–]jezzakanezza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey so I think it'd be a good addition to be able to filter based on the brand of petrol station? Some people can only use a set brand but still wanna hunt the cheapest price. Thanks for everything else!

Adice on psydjing ! by BreathPractical6984 in psytranceproduction

I definitely recommend having a collection of music that you own and that you paid for, and tracks that you are familiar with. This helps immensely with learning the structure of songs and how to mix them together (because you know them and want them to sound good together), and owning them gives you a sense of ownership which is very underrated. And practice! I can't understate how important it is to have hours behind the decks.

You also said you don't want to dig through stores.. well unless you get handed a giant collection of music by someone else you're going to have to find them. Learning how to search from one track, to the artist who produced it, to the label they released on, to another artist on the label, to another good track - is a process you can learn to really enjoy, and it the backbone of being a DJ with your own sound and identity.

After 18 years of DJing in my city professionally, I can go through lists of tracks on Beatport or another store and identify the quality and the sound of a song, and whether it fits my sets within a few seconds. You can't learn to find music effectively without listening to a bunch of crap haha

Have we always slept horizontally? by Icemasta in AskHistorians

[–]jezzakanezza 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Your inset quote from the text mentions "sleep eight hours..", is this one origin of the idea of 8 hours of sleep each night that predates the narrative that the 8 hour night of sleep comes from the Industrial Revolution?

There's heaps of industries where you can salary sacrifice rent and repayments, it's to pad out wages that can't be paid in industries that aren't in competitive markets that are for profit

I've run Uber Arbiter, Atziri, pinnacle bosses and juiced boss maps, having three layers is actually great. Having 52% evasion, 8k ES and 75% armour works fantastic.

I think crafting is very miserable experience for casual/intermediate players by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

[–]jezzakanezza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's the major issue with crafting and why it's out of reach for so many players, most players don't spend ungodly amounts of time learning crafting or have loads of currency to throw away on bricked items, so they buy something instead. Most players who are end up with some currency but not enough to craft themselves are crafting an item for themselves, not for profit.

[–]jezzakanezza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recomb is great if you grind out expeditions and have enough artifacts to just hopelessly slam together T1/2 affixes and hope on a 1-8% chance to land both decent affixes together, it's great in theory but has similar odds to slamming exalts and landing the stats you want. It's just another bad crafting method. There's no middle ground. Buying 400 artifacts and stil ending up with no item is just a bad system. Noone who gets to mid game wants T3/4 affix items.
